"Remove that Oxford comma!" "No!" "Remove it, I say!" "No!!" "Oh, let 'em go, we'll never get through to them not with this clunky prose."

Happy 20th anniversary to "Samoyed and teddy bear" on Wikimedia Commons. "This is a picture of my samoyed with a teddy bear. I release all rights to it, it would just be nice if her image could survive forever." commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sa...

A white samoyed dog is sleeping in the lap of a large teddy bear, easily three times the size of the dog. The bear's paw is placed on the dog's back and its face is arranged looking down onto the dog.

That's fair, and that's not to say technical errors can't happen either. If I might suggest smth, maybe you could try having two set days in a month where you work less so on due commissions, and instead take a few hours just to respond to people?

Life's hard, this is your only source of income. 99% of people will understand if you take your time. But you gotta communicate with them, make a system to prioritize by most overdue commissions. & ppl will still also def pay for in-streams once a week knowing they can get quick turnover.

People tend to get anxious when an artist doesn't give occasional (monthly, ideally) unprompted updates on their commission, give them inaccurate/unrealistic turn-around estimates, and generally seem unresponsive and hard to get a hold of.

To preface, I'm saying this with 0 intent to be abrasive or antagonistic, so I hope it doesn't read that way. I believe the issue is far less so the amount of time a commission might take, and more so the lack of communication. Bottom line, Communication makes or breaks trust.
