Hanwell is stuck at one polling station. We have 1490 votes counted. But there are 1902 votes all said in Hanwell. I’m upside down by 204 votes currently so statistically impossible to win. But I can’t concede until they update that last number for the love of Pete.

1 Acre lots, with water a concern. The first 3 rural plans it was deemed we needed 1 acre to 1.5 to sustain a family with septic and a well. Now this council thinks we can add more to the already troubled water sources!

My solar plan, I developed myself without any help from anyone! I am totally responsible. (Except I took all the idea from the PACE program from municipalities in Nova Scotia). I have solar myself, I am seeing the difference. No person who has solar would ever go back. Pay NB power, pay yourself!

The Province w/out any contact to me, took down my election signs Route 640 is not an access-controlled highway. Election signs are permitted within the right-of-way, as long as they meet safety requirements.They did not block line of sight. This is political interference!They are Christmas Lights!

Communities all around us getting access to Green initiative funding partnering w/ the Fed/Prov. When was the last time Hanwell got a major announcement? Our taxes are out there, lets bring some home. Cost is important, but partnerships with community stake holders is what drives funding strategies.

The Federal Gov and Provincial Gov I believe are putting a lot of faith in potential growth. Being our own source, getting world investments. Commendable and a big gamble. It can really pay off. But, adversely if everyone doesn’t pull together we will be in huge troubles.

Nothing in our communities happen in a vacuum. I believe we need more than "Ask your MLA/MP". A good Mayor will coord Prov & Fed depts/agencies to Council, in such, the public. By encouraging dialogue, not restricting it via Councillors & their constituents, we will get a better bang for our buck.

We used to have a lot of volunteers & active members of Hanwell. We need to bring people together, not push them away. Currently committees don't meet, or exclude people, or make it so their feedback doesn't matter. By talking to people, it is amazing how easy it is to find people who want to help.

I believe New Brunswick could really use a strong opposition right now. As the PCs choose their next leader, I hope the focus is on ideas and solutions, not using minority groups to create outrage. Democracy works best when we debate policy, not people.

FYI -Property assessments don’t determine how much tax you pay, they determine your share. If every home goes up 10%, everyone’s share stays the same. The real driver is the municipal budget (the warrant). Assessments divide the pie, they don’t make the pie bigger. Though councils may blame them.
