I'd say this came out pretty accurate, but roughly every group of 4 I would say are a close tie 🙂‍↕️ low-key makes me want to start a new playthrough..

The Haar was great! One of my favorites this year. I also finished Time is a Mother by Ocean Vuong. It's the first poetry collection I've finished in a really long time, and it's beautiful.

This was a brilliant, queer vampire novel. Some parts were hard to get through because of how intense they were, as it gets into abusive relationship dynamics and some very graphic blood-drinking. The audiobook narrator was incredible!

This book made me cry a lot and laugh just as much. A really tender story about grief and friendship.

Nicky Drayden's sequel to Escaping Exodus. I enjoyed it, but the first 80% almost felt like it was just seeing the scene for something bigger to start building up

I was so glad I also decided to continue reading the Daoshi Chronicles. I'm super impressed with Boroson's writing. He gives incredible care to the details he includes and topics he explores. Li-lin is one of the coolest protagonists I've ever had the delight of reading.

Cover art for The Girl with No Face: Book 2 in The Daoshi Chronicles by M.H. Boroson, read by Emily Woo Seller. The art depicts a woman in a yellow dress with long hair facing down a foggy alley with a dim street lamp, framed by misty, glowing blue flowers.

I'm finally starting book 3 of Magic of the Lost tonight. This has been one of my favorite series EVER and I can't wait for the emotions C. L. Clark is going to put me through 🥲

Cover art of The Sovereign by C. L. Clark. Touraine is on her knees staring ahead, holding Luca who is unconscious and wounded. A massive tree is behind them with banners tangled in its branches. Seed pods float down through the air around them. The whole image has a fiery-red glow.

I also finished Mutual Aid and I think it'd be a really great reference book to have physically. I only have the audiobook rn since it was free recently and it's definitely not suited to that medium

I'm still reading a bit of Rakesfall on the weekends, but I'm still getting myself used to sitting down to read a physical copy for more than a few minutes 😅 Up next I've FINALLY started one I'm sooo excited for!

I finished book number 4 for the year last week! The latest Halo novel. I've enjoyed most of Kelly Gay's books in the series, but this one was..okay.. I'm sure she had more plot constraints than usual since the point of this book is to wrap up the unfinished story of the last game

I'm going with a sci-fi story for my next audio book, another novella-length one. I haven't read the first in the Binti series since 2019, buuut I've survived longer gaps between sequels lol

Starting off the year with two fantasy books I've been really looking forward to! It's been a couple years since I've read a physical book but I'm hoping to set aside time each of my days off this month and finish Rakesfall by the end of it. Might make this a thread for liveblogging my progress

I managed to finish 30 books this year 🤓 I'm gonna try to do a reading challenge with my friends in 2026. Maybe I can beat my record of 119 in one year??

1) Failure to Communicate by Kaia Sønderby MC is a woman with an affinity for communicating with non-humans. Human eugenics has lead to her being one of the last autistic people. I've never related to a protagonist as much as I have to Xandri, and this book helped me discover a lot about myself.

#oc lore train 🚂 explain your oc's lore in the shittiest way possible Adopted daughter of upperclass lesbians grew out of her rebellious phase just to be peer pressured into a job she didn't want. And she's being harassed by an ex-colleague who disappeared her best friend. (Art by Bianca Papalardo)

Portrait of a grey skinned woman with large, glowing yellow pupils and an ornamental face tattoo branching from above and below her eyes. She has a small scar on her upper lip. She's wearing a colorful purple and blue extravagant outfit and a feathered head dress, with a silver rapier hanging at her hip.

The same grey skinned woman as the previous image, sitting in a log in front of an A-frame tent in a moonlit forest. She's holding a rolled-up map in her right hand and smiling at someone out-of-frame. She's lit by the glow of a camp fire. A couple of flying insects are visible by the moonlight, and an orange firefly floats in the foreground. The woman's shadow on the tent is warped and monstrous, claws and tendril-like hair extending past the edges of the tent. Two subtle white pinpoints in the shadow give the impression of eyes.

For reference, D tier for me is "wouldn't go out of my way to eat", while S tier is reserved for fruit with not only the best flavor but also requiring no effort (i.e. peeling) to eat !! Lots of unlisted fruit I would add to A tier btw like Casaba and Crenshaw melons, prickly pear, honeycrisp
