No idea what’s going/gone on in Sancho’s personal life, so writing with caution. But something strange about heavily produced motivational content around gym work & training when, at every club he’s played for, that’s literally the job. The difference is that nobody normally needs a trailer for it.

Something almost indescribable about that Parrot goal from last night. I say almost as ‘satisfying’ is the word I’d use but not sure it does it justice. There have been better/different goals scored, defending could’ve been better etc, but it’s just given me a real sense of satisfaction. 🦜

Oh yeah. But I think I’m saying (badly worded in previous message) that it’s never been about the club for them. It could have been any club. It just happened to be City they chose. There is no deep-rooted love which therefore prevents any acknowledgement or realisation of the damage they’ve done.

Far more than I expected. Regardless of appeals, regardless of sanctions dished out, the words Manchester City and Guilty (bar one! charge) is as damning as anything. They’ll go on to win more trophies (in the near future or far) but they’ll forever now be tainted with those words. About time!

Aye, but there’s a difference between keeping the ball & keeping the ball & achieving an end result. That’s our problem. Excellent at playing and receiving the ball in set positions but lack initiative/relationships to advance. Poor at playing out, often resulting with it back with Lammens to kick.

Don’t necessarily disagree, think we’re broadly saying the same thing. But why weren’t we the ones doing Hull. Why invite luck against Everton by sitting back? Why not do more vs City? Brighton being good doesn’t excuse throwing away 2-0. It’s early, so everything’s scrutinised. Just so frustrating.

Read the very same article. My personal opinion is that shape, positions etc are all well and good IF you have a plan. I may be wrong, but the eye test told me that we regularly regained possession as a result of a FFC attack that either ended in a goal kick or a corner. Pragmatism without purpose.

But when you’re not winning & don’t have a defined style of play (paraphrasing Carrick’s comments on being unpredictable) you’d expect higher running stats. Many argue that ‘City are down that list too’ - well yeah, City keep the ball brilliantly - we don’t. They work hard to win it back - we don’t.

Yep. Watching us yesterday, I conducted a very rudimentary, unscientific exercise - how often a Fulham attack resulted in Lammens being involved compared to a United attack & Leno being involved. It was merely by eye so have no actual results, but you can guess what my initial findings were.

And he’s by no means our biggest issue. I probably wouldn’t even class him as an ‘issue’. It’s more a wider point about our squad. MC appears wedded to certain players regardless of form. I don’t think many fans would have grumbled if he’d started Lacey & brought BM on or vice versa. Try something.

I like him but think his transfer value has skewed perceptions. When we break it down, he’s spent the majority of his club career playing for Brentford (2 of those seasons in the Championship), played well and got a move to a club desperate for ‘better’. £70m shouldn’t make you an automatic starter.
