Today is not the day to test me.
E-mail in which I am asked the following:

Hi Matt. Are you open to paid collabs? We would love to write a gaming related article for . We can agree upon a relevant topic upfront that fits your audience. The article will include internal links to other pages on your site, authority sources, and one link to our gaming client from a relevant section, as naturally is possible. If you are open to it, please share your guest article guidelines or prices.

Author and company blocked by red arrows.

I reply:

I am not open to paid collaborations. Particularly as I run a comic book review site and not a video game site. Something it would have taken you five seconds to check if you were actually interested in a collaboration. I would ask to be removed from your list, but I intend to block your e-mail and all e-mails from your domain as soon as I hit the send button on this e-mail.

With deep loathing and resentment, I remain proudly Matt Morrison

Hope Larson did show Babs still working on her Masters in her 2016 Batgirl run - which made sense given her being aged down - and made it clear there is more to being a librarian than just liking books. Of course it did also show Babs tutoring kids in coding...

This led to Roy's new origin six months later in Adventure Comics #262 by Robert Bernstein & Lee Elias. Now, Roy was the son of a forest ranger, who was adopted by the Sioux Chief Brave Bow after Roy's father died a hero's death. (An avalanche originally, but later a forest fire.)

That led to 1959's Adventure Comics #256 by Jack Kirby and Ed Herron. This is where we get Ollie being shipwrecked, teaching himself archery, and designing his first trick arrows.

Originally, Roy's family was killed in a plane crash on a trip to The Lost Mesa. Only he and his father's Native American manservant, Quoag, survived. But rather than get back to civilization, they camped out on the Mesa and Quoag taught Roy all he knew about hunting and archery.

Oh yeah. It's been glossed over in favor of the origin Jack Kirby drew (mostly by virtue of him drawing it) but the original Golden Age Green Arrow was more Indiana Jones than Robin Hood. Also, he had an Arrow Cave hideout one year before Batman had a Bat-Cave. (Even if Quiver IS a better name.)

Thing is, her hair is lighter and a different style than her quick cameo in the #XMen97 Season 1 finale. Annnnnnd I just found out that Beau Mayo apparently leaked that Kitty was meant to show up in this scene (along with Lockheed and Colossus) instead of Bishop to help Forge find the #XMen.

The Final Night. Regrettably, it is no longer canon. But there are so many great character moments here as the heroes of Earth face a threat that can't just be punched. Some attempt to find peace before the end. Some refuse to give up. And then there's a great redemption story.

Longshot question for @markwaid.bsky.social Per the New History of the DC Universe, Supergirl was resurrected by Darkseid after Crisis. This partly draws from Superman/Batman: The Supergirl from Krypton. My question is - did Kara ever train with the Amazons in the new timeline?

I freely admit this is idiotic, but this is the only variant of this I'm amazed nobody has done yet. (Or if they have, I haven't seen it.) Maybe I'll redo it with Trump and Baron later. #MontyPython #HolyGrail #MontyPythonandtheHolyGrail #SwampCastle
A poor quality photoshop of Swamp Castle from Monty Python and the Holy Grail before the reflecting pool turned swamp green by the feckless stupidity of Donald J. Trump. Standing before this is Prince Herbert (Terry Jones) and his father, the King of Swamp Castle (Michael Palin), also from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, during his great speech about how his castle is the strongest one in all the British Isles. "When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one stayed up." Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a fine movie although not so fine as “The Høt Hands of an Oslo Dentist”, “Fillings of Passion”, or “The Huge Mølars of Horst Nordfink.” These Norwegian films are overlooked by the international press or at least those portions of it not devoted to films that combine the lore of Europena dentistry with intense action sequences. Quote with something good that lasted longer than the US Confederacy (1861-1865). The Arrowverse (2012-2023) Some say it lasted a bit longer because of Superman and Lois, but that was another Earth. And if we start considering the DC multiverse tied to the Arrowverse, we are gonna have trouble.

A two panel spread of a scene from Babylon 5, with Londo Mollari arguing with his contemporary, Lord Refa. In the first panel, Londo says "Only an idiot fights a war on two fronts." In the second panel, Londo says "Only the heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Idiots would fight a war on 12 fronts." This is in reference to their aggressive Emperor.

So... this came up in my Facebook feed. (Pretty sure this is not the fault of @gailsimone.bsky.social) Still, there is such balance in life.
A screenshot of a Facebook feed and two posts. The top post shows a meme from Futurama Penniless Hippieposting and a picture of Donald Trump after he allegedly pooped his pants with a cartoon woman saying "What is that horrible stench?" The post under that is by Gail Simone, featuring a scan from the humor comic PLOP! The juxtaposition is that Simone is commenting on Trump pooping his pants, but it is just an amusing coincidence. Probably. It may be evidence of fell sorcery Gail Simone is using to manipulate my Facebook feed. But it might not be. Either way it is probably part of the sinister Bear Agenda that Stephen Colbert warned us about.
