in this case Sphene also IMO invoked a different princess/queen in FF that I don't see people doing much comparing to. It was a bit like Ashe from XII but if Ashe did indeed decide to use nethicite to level the Empire next door in the name of protecting her kingdom.

i had a realisation that, when trying to combine Celes Chere's sprite and Amano design in a harmonious manner that it's not too far removed from the 'traje de luces' that matadors wear, soooo i fully leaned into it and i think it owns. #FinalFantasyVI #FF6 #FinalFantasyFanart

An interpretation of Celes Chere from Final Fantasy 6. Her outfit is similar to her Amano design with a cape and shoulderpads evoking her sprite art, but all given a 'traje de luces' feel.
