I’ve come to love embroidery because it’s such a slow, detail-oriented craft, and for this project especially, it was an expression of dedication and how much Gale means to me as a character. And I’m sure there are countless others who feel similarly about their embroidery projects.

I distinctly remember a point when I thought to myself, ‘Oh I’ll never cosplay Gale’s camp outfit, with all that embroidery….’ 😅 Anyway, I saw a post talking about how GenAI has become a plague in the embroidery world, with so many fake projects/patterns, and it made me angry.

I was never totally satisfied with my original ones - I thrifted them before I knew how much Gale would mean to me. Having these much more accurate (and comfortable) boots really feels like I’ve filled in a missing piece of this cosplay, and I’m thrilled with how they turned out.

Gale has gotten an upgrade with new boots! I decided to treat myself as a belated birthday gift to some Armstreet boots, and then promptly took them apart to modify them 🤣 Changed the shape a little, re-did all the tabs/lacing, added some contrast colour.
