This is a stunning image. I cannot imagine the time and patience it took to create this! (I can't even draw stick figures. I'd like to learn how, so am checking out this course - seniorgent.com/learn-to-draw)

Here is a great moment from Adam West. The writers must've had a great time with this show. Many a little boy loved it, no matter how corny it seemed.

This is the moment when the promised "mediator" between the city workers and builders is revealed. We share his self-revelation and know that the moment is a turning point in Metropolis 1927. ericrmusic.com/messianic-mo...

One of the things I enjoy about social media is using it for stream of consciousness posts. Something comes to mind you can record it for later consideration while also getting reactions from those interested. You can discuss, expand, extrapolate, or even remove them if you wish.

I’ve noticed that there are strongly held opinions on every aspect of a given topic. Pro, con, and everything in between have experts, all claiming the truth. So, the most important skill is the ability to assess and discern as much truth as possible for oneself. It means to stand alone.

When I was growing up, these were a big deal! They were also among the biggest frustrations for a lad of 10 if parts were missing! To this day, I love the old monster movies! I wonder what these kits would be worth now in mint condition.

While getting old is not without its aches and pains, not everyone is able to make it to one's latter years. It's a gift to be able to look back over a lifetime; to be of help to the young; to enjoy the wisdom one has earned. No one knows if they will get these gifts, so I am grateful.🙏

In this scene from the 1927 version of King of Kings, a blind boy is brought by Mary and we see through the boy's eyes his returning vision. I love the poetry of this scene with its deep reverence and beautiful treatment of this moment. Watch this lovely 3 minutes: ericrmusic.com/blind-boy-he...

This film is still profoundly relevant. While there have been mergers of network ownership, the manipulation of media has continued unabated. It has led to a deep mistrust, and dare I say, a sentiment of being "mad as hell, and we're not going to take it anymore!" www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cSG...

We sometimes just need to feel connected intimately to someone. It's almost as if one is saying, "the world is spinning out of control, yet I feel safe with you." Enjoy this music and montage on "Intimacy" ericrmusic.com/intimacy

I wrote new music for this old film. The film is by Salvadore Dali, so you can imagine how weird it is...trust me...you can't imagine it! Be warned, it is disturbing as only Dali could be. ko-fi.com/post/Un-Chie...

I enjoyed your article and appreciated the sense of ambiguity in trying to define noir. I must admit that I've tended to define noir as its visual style combined with human failings. But your description of "Niagara" broadens that view. Very thoughtful article.

I read this a few years ago and was surprised how little the film versions reflected it. There is no monster creation scene, and the creature articulates his anguish clearly. Frankly, it is far superior to any of the films, and I found the 19th century writing style refreshing.

Is there a recorded version of Mr. Shapiro's score? Frankenstein 1931 did not have music so it would be great to see this version.

This clip tells me that the movies, as we have known them, are finished. If AI can create this level of realism... I write music for old silent films. It’s a hobby in my old age. I will continue to do it for the pure enjoyment. But I feel for anyone aspiring to be in film as they are not needed.

My favorite feature here is the ability to select which feeds appear at the top of the page. I can remove the "Discover" feed and only see what I've chosen. This is an excellent option as I dislike the Discover feed.

I highly recommend limiting one’s follows. The endless stream of new stuff to consume is likely more than a mere human mind can handle. It’s like a stone being skipped on the surface of a lake. What if there is deep meaning and purpose to be found that cannot be accessed on the surface?

Life advice from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (b otd 1749): “A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul.”

I came across a video called “How to be a Polymath”. I had no idea that this would be a goal. If one has multiple interests, there’s no need to become what one already is.

I was at a restaurant, observing the various tables nearby occupied by young folks having a fine time. It was so nice to see them enjoying themselves, yet I know that unknown difficulties will come their way down the road. Enjoy yourselves, for it will get harder.

Do you know the names of your great-grandparents? We will be forgotten within a few generations, yet so many of us are driven by self-importance and the desire to be known. So I ask myself, where am I spending my energies and why? And a big question...do I sense something beyond me?

The Mystery beckons us We give it a variety of names... but it remains the Mystery. We create movements and monuments to our names for it... yet it remains the Mystery We write books, paint pictures, compose symphonies in one of its names... yet it remains the Mystery ...and beckons

How one starts the day is important. When I awake and open my eyes, I try to remember gratitude for being able to see (I sometimes forget). The senses were given so I can experience life. I sometimes need a reminder to be grateful.

As I peruse timelines, I see something facing virtually everyone - lurking helplessness. The constant reminders of big issues that are beyond our control can leave us feeling helpless. Surely, this is not a good thing.

When I engage with what I consider good books, films, music, art, etc., the experience is anything but trivial. But when I turn to social media, it is generally superficial and disposable. Maybe it's just me. So I am open to correction. Maybe I'm just expecting too much?

One of routines most mornings is the intentional absorption of direct sunlight. I spend 5-10 minutes as early as possible allowing its rays to enter the eyes. (looking indirectly) It's a great way to greet the day and experience a bona fide "good morning"! 😊

I found this quote to be an invitation to look within for moral guidance rather than to another person. “It is not, what a lawyer tells me I may do; but what humanity, reason, and justice, tell me I ought to do.” - Edmund Burke
