Increasingly, I have seen folks who released music through GameChops distance themselves from the label and express a desire to re-distro outside of it. But there's a cost involved in that which many musicians may not be able to cover. So, fuck it, let me put my money where my mouth is.

So! Being granted the opportunity by the universe to do the funniest thing, I will be doing a ‘hacker-gifted towel review’ of the 22 towels making it to our home against all odds. Will let y’all know when we get them 👍

We have since discovered that the towels actually come in a 2-pack. So we are not being mailed 11 towels, we are instead be mailed 22 towels.

For some reason he got an update today (to an email no longer connected to a shop account, mind you) that the towels are arriving this week. The order that the payment was frozen on—that was cancelled—yeah, that order.

So the next day he wakes up to a $360 charge for towels. That’s right! The hackers ordered $360 in towels… to *our* house?? He was largely upset that it was only 11 towels for $360. Cabbo was able to get the card cancelled, the shop account deleted, and the towel order cancelled… or so we thought…

We spent the rest of the day Friday going through and securing things. We *thought* we’d gotten everything, but Cabbo apparently had forgotten to change one password…

Anyway, there’s no coming back from a token stealing session hijacker like this, so the only thing to do is unplug the PC, change all your passwords from a different device, do a clean install of Windows, etc, etc.

Cabbo got it from downloading a seemingly safe PDF program from a seemingly safe website. He ran virus checks like we always do when getting a new program and they came back ✨clean✨

We found out Cabbo had this virus after I started getting messages that his account was sending out Mr. Beast crypto scams on Discord 💀 Many people assume you get this virus from clicking an infected message, but this wasn’t true in his case.

I have the manta but think it’d be really nice to have the smaller nomad as well—both seem good for different occasions as the nomad is a smidge more portable. (I am not sponsored though it maybe sounds like I am LMAO)

There are SO many reasons I love it!! I got it because Iw anted an e-ink device for less eye strain but the whole ethos and community really made me get the supernote specifically. I can be the one to upgrade the storage? change the battery?? I can use it without an account??? 😭😭
