We all feel angry at times - it's part of being human. Anger is a normal, healthy emotion, but understanding our feelings beneath it can help us decide how to we want to respond to it 💙
We often treat anger as the problem. But anger is usually a signal.
The real emotion may be hiding underneath.
Swipe to explore the anger iceberg Diagram of an iceberg illustrating anger above water and underlying emotions like grief, embarrassment, trauma, and insecurity below the surface.Pause and ask yourself:
Before reacting in anger...
What am I really feeling?
What need isn’t being met?
What am I afraid of?
What would help me feel understood?Anger can look different when you understand what’s underneath.

“I’m so angry they didn’t text back.”
 “I feel rejected.”

“I’m furious about that feedback.”
“I feel embarrassed.”

“I’m snapping at everyone today.”
“I’m exhausted.”

Save this to come back to any time you need a reminder ❤️
You’re doing better than you think you are
You are not your diagnosis
Little mental health reminders
You are human
Give yourself compassion
You are enough
You are not a burden
Look at how far you’ve come

Scrolling through social media can be enjoyable, but sometimes it can be unhelpful. If you find yourself online a lot, it can help to be mindful of ways social media might be impacting your wellbeing. Being online can affect everyone differently, but remember, you are in control 💙
Comparing yourself to others
How does scrolling through social media affect our mental health?
Seeing triggering content
Feeling lonely
Feeling overwhelmed
Making sleep difficult

Whether or not you love the sun or prefer cooler temperatures, we all need to take care of ourselves during the hot weather. Feel free to share to make sure those of us taking medication for our mental health know how to look after ourselves ☀️
Slide one: Do you take medication for your mental health? Here's some info you might need in a heatwave. Some psychiatric medications, such as some antipsychotics, and in rare cases some antidepressants, may increase our sensitivity to sunlight. This can also happen if you take St Johns Wort. Some antidepressants can also cause us to sweat more or to experience muscle weakness. So it's important to take extra care to protect ourselves and stay hydrated in this hot and sunny weather. If you're not sure whether your medication may have these side effects, you can find detailed information in your medication's Patient Information Leaflet.
You can search for a pdf version of it on the electronic medications compendium (emc): www.medicines.org.uk/emc
