Two years ago if you had told me I was going to get up early to run a 5k on Thanksgiving morning I would have thought you were crazy. If you had said I would run it with a sub 7 minute mile pace then I would swear nothing is real and we are living in a simulation. So here we are..

This week, I got back my Nintendo Game Play Counselor Map Manual after it was used in the Netflix video game documentary, High Score. Brings back memories of helping people find the Grapple Beam from Super Metroid. The Nintendo Power magazine shown is the one with me in the Counselor's Corner.

An adventurous day: found a friendly girl without a collar wandering in the neighborhood. After Susi did a local search, I drove her to the vet. Thankfully, she was chipped with updated info. I spoke to her dad, learning her name was Gabby, and we facilitated a happy reunion.

A new PR by a pretty big amount. There was a group of high school track kids running with me, and I kept a pretty good pace with them. After, they gave me some high fives with a "You are in really good shape." I chose to ignore the unspoken but implied, "for being an old man." :)

Just finished Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, one of the best RPGs I have played in a long time. I actually kept collecting and exploring for days because I didn't want it to end. Great story, great mechanics, amazing visual style. My GOTY so far for 2025.

I'm reading a book (and in fact moved on to the 2nd book in the series) that I can't tell if I like it. I like the world and the environment that the author has created, but I really don't like the protagonist. I don't like his attitude or views and it makes for a very odd reading experience.
