Finished the prologue of #TrailsInTheSkySC and they really went "this is going to hit you in the feelings" with that prologue end. So good. Now in chapter one and it's so nice to be back in Ruan, meeting familiar NPCs and catching up before plunging into quests and main story progress.

I couldn't resist playing a bit more today and managed to clear the tutorial dungeon with no issues. The muscle memory from the first game helps a lot 😅 I'm enjoying exploring the new crafts available and working out a good build with the new setups. And the story is picking up fast too.

Played a couple of hours of Trails in the Sky Second Chapter and wow, that opening. Picks up right at the end of the previous game, literally the morning after, and I teared up multiple times in the first fifteen minutes. This promises to be very good. More serious than FC, but it's earned that.

I finished Trails in the Sky First Chapter and now I understand why people said waiting for the second game of torture. That was a brilliant game but the ending...so many feelings. So many. Absolutely not what I expected at all. Luckily I have the second game to start today.

It's #Sttictly season again and I'm having a great time watching the launch show. I'm particularly enjoying the absolute chaos of the new format of "find out the pairs while they dance". I'd missed the finding out live aspect and this is such a fun evolution.

I had the MRI on Monday. I wondered if it was an unusually long one and the technician confirmed it was. Scan took up two slots - I hope they got all the incredible detail they need. My GP will get the report in a couple of weeks, I'm currently telling myself firmly that it's fine. Nothing wrong.

After 105 hours, I have finished Fire Emblem Three Houses 🎉 For the first time. There are two other routes to play that I suspect have very different second halves to the story. So I'll be doing that at some point. The ending really stuck the landing and that last battle felt epic. Great game.

Sigh. I will not get a refund for any part of the journey. Apparently the delay was outside the train company's control in both directions and therefore no refund, even though both journeys were incredibly delayed.

Apparently yesterday/today is the day everyone who got to play a preview of Final Fantasy VIII Revelation gets to release their impressions video. And OMG, these videos are making me so excited about it. The joy everyone has in how good this game is...I'm so delighted.

The PlayStation state of play Japan was dangerous for my wish list. Rhapsody in Scarlett looks really intriguing. Love the 1920s setting, the gameplay looks fun and the story trailer has grabbed my attention. (I can foresee femslash for it, just saying) Can't wish list it yet but I'll remember it

The technician changed her mind in the official report and the scan wasn't clear enough to see anything useful so I'm being referred for an MRI instead 🙄 GP has reassured me that there's no immediate concerns so I fully expect this to happen in 2030.

I was told "talk to all the NPCs regularly" when playing a Trails game. And everyone was right. The dialogue changes after every story point. The NPCs are all having their own lives and stories while everything is happening. I'm even seeing NPCs move areas for plot reasons 👀 #TrailsInThwSkyFC

Scan cane back clear (no change from four years ago, anyway) so unless my GP decides otherwise, there's no further action. I have meds in the house in case of another recurrence, I'm feeling better, I'm grumpy that this took the shine off my week off, but otherwise no harm done.

I'm pretty happy with the idea of a year touristing around Zemuria, setting of the Trails games. There are some lovely locations to visit. Sure, stuff is happening in some places but most people seem to be living their lives and I can always ask for help from the bracer guild if I need it.

On my fourth day of leave, I have been for my blood test bc I'm now home waiting for a parcel delivery. Also waiting for notification from the pharmacy that my prescriptions are in. Basically today is a lot of waiting.

Had a phone consult with a GP and prescriptions are in the works, blood test is scheduled for tomorrow and scans are being urgently requested. But at least I'm hopefully going to be able to enjoy my leave this week now that things are under control.

On my third day of leave I'm up bright and early...so I could fill in the online form at my GP to get an urgent appointment. An issue from a few years ago reoccurred over the weekend and while I'm going to be fine, I need some prescriptions and maybe a check on my anemia levels 😬

Today I played some more #TrailsInTheSkyFC and made very little story progress but did a ton of exploration in the new area and got a few side quests in. I met Olivier and I get it now. Well done Matt Mercer for making this character charming rather than creepy. This world feels so full. Love it.

I'm on leave for the next week, the longest time I've had off since Christmas. Yay! For the first day of my leave, I took mum out for breakfast and then played some trails in the sky. Finished the prologue. Chapter boss was challenging but I did it on the first attempt. Woot!

Just because today was a going to be less hot than yesterday does not make a high of 31 feel reasonable. Particularly when it was a very warm night so my house didn't cool off much. I'm clinging to the actually cooler weather coming tomorrow.
