sekun @sekun.net · 14/07/2026and i'm saying this as someone who was forced to install ubuntu on my mom's celeron laptop as a lil kid because windows vista was too slow. i didn't know a thing about linux nor programming at the time lol 010
sekun @sekun.net · 06/06/2026looks like nixos-anywhere fails on hetzner cx23 now but is fine on VMs with more RAM. thought i was going crazy. pretty sure this used to work before? 130
sekun @sekun.net · 03/06/2026one cool (and lazy) thing i added to my blog last year is a rudimentary codeblock diff & fold using the details summary. personally i find it helpful to read and write cause i can communicate changes in one go 110
sekun @sekun.net · 02/06/2026this has been rotting in my drafts for too long. i swear to publish this soon 060
sekun @sekun.net · 31/05/2026not to be woke or anything but the 2004 logo of firefox was their best one 753867
sekun @sekun.net · 29/05/2026i got my own crappy data pipeline now. i still have to fix so many things but omg it's coming together 120
sekun @sekun.net · 21/05/2026redoing @remotehiro.com's layout a bit and was wondering is it better to: 1. show the salary ranges and the original currency only 2. show the converted salary ranges based on the user's preferred currencies in the salary column 3. a mix of 1 & 2 by showing them in different columns 230
sekun @sekun.net · 13/03/2026i'm baffled that a simple lyric website has this many third parties to sell your data to 081
sekun @sekun.net · 26/02/2026i found out a few days ago that a nix derivation can have multiple sources 🤯 but i haven't found a nice way of naming the local source so that i don't have to resort to `find` 150
sekun @sekun.net · 01/02/2026i had to make a quick & dirty python script to create an anki practice deck for spanish verbs, and i still think python's tooling is subpar. even uv required some mental gymnastics to package scripts so i ditched it nix fixes this as usual 020
sekun @sekun.net · 27/01/2026apparently @ca.remotehiro.com (an account for Canadian residents to follow for relevant job posts) got instantly terminated without prior warning. it barely posted. it never interacted with users besides the main account. i never posed as the company that's hiring either. 263
sekun @sekun.net · 18/01/2026hey y'all i'm working on a simple job board that aggregates job listings in the most boring way possible: A TABLE. also, you can see jobs relevant to your country of residence on your very own TL by following @remotehiro.com's local account. e.g @us.remotehiro.com (more otw) 151
sekun @sekun.net · 20/12/2025well i figured it out (kinda). i was missing a grub boot partition. also i think nixos-anywhere wipes out the scp'd disk encryption keys post-installation so the server was unable to boot into it. but i still have to verify this though. i'm glad to see the pings go through lol 120
sekun @sekun.net · 14/12/2025moved my website away from github pages! just need to move a couple more things, and i'll start setting up github push mirrors for my public projects 370
sekun @sekun.net · 14/12/2025i'm mildly annoyed that cf is NOT serving my website's precompressed html files. other file types seem to work fine. idk why!!! >:( - files are there - works fine if i don't use cf - no cf compression rules - no cf req header rules 110
sekun @sekun.net · 13/12/2025companies would look at this, and would think of how to maximize ad space & cookie banners for their 3655 partners 140
sekun @sekun.net · 10/12/2025i haz public git server now! git.tacohiro.systems this is only for my public projects though. internally i'm using a private forgejo instance (hooray tailscale). had to mess around with linux acls a lil, and my setup is pretty cursed atm lol. finally gonna start gradually moving away from github! 061
