As much as I'd like one of these, I still wish they had Retroachievement support. Would be awesome to use my original carts and still get the benefits of a Batocera setup.

I'm willing to jump on these if there's a way for them to support Retroachievements

This is the same CEO that said people would get second jobs to pay 599 for the PS3, and that vibration was a last gen feature.

And now these people who don't agree with Sony's direction are going to act on this by selling their games, right? Or are they just going to move to digital and prove them right?

Well, evidently they are lol

That doesn't change what I said, it's still on Windows. Additionally posting on X. So much for taking the moral high ground. Also the US has committed far more genocide than Israel has, so Steam is also an issue really. Overall just a bullshit "we don't like Xbox" disguised as politics.

Insufferable developers having double standards by releasing on Microsoft Windows shocker

Because the Microsoft Store is likely to go down in the next 30 years. /s Disc to digital also allows you to have a physical copy of the game for both Xbox and PC.

So you now suddenly agree that it sucks ass when games are console exclusive?

No, your point was "don't pay credits to stream the game when you could just buy it". Tom Warren fucked up with his article, but my question was - in case the game *did* become streamable to PCs, how is streaming "worth worth it" to casual/poorer players, or people who cannot afford/find a console?

Would be interesting to hear whether Linux gamers, who ditched Windows/Apple for telemetry concerns and also bought a PlayStation instead of an Xbox/Switch, continue using their PlayStation after this news, or stick to their values and get rid of it.

Clippy @segagamer.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
The people streaming it are also unlikely to afford a console or maybe even obtain it due to stock issues. But I guess you don't care about those people?

But the American note names only make sense with 4/4 music. I guess that's all Americans listen to and don't know what waltzing is? What's also wild to me is that Americans don't know how to use the proper note names (do re mi etc) and so refer to the alphabet lol

I run Ubuntu on my server hosting Plex, PiHole, Cavalry + other. I have Debian on my x86-64 laptop. Win11 on my ARM lappy and Xbox ROG Ally. At work I use Win/Mac/Linux for various things. It's all about using the right tool for the job. Anyone who ties into just one is just being childish.

It's absolutely not necessary. And if we're going to switch to anything, it should be FreeBSD. At least they have the right idea on how to do things.

You're just coming across as someone who's just angry and looking for fights, and just being demeaning about an assumed age like it's an actual insult or something. Considering you appear to care so much about privacy etc, you don't seem to mind telling us that you're an old American lady.

You have to specifically enable it all on Windows if you want such invasive levels of telemetry and tracking. They can all be disabled during OOBE though. I only raised it RE: SteamOS and its games because, well, if you complain about it on one then surely you'd complain about it on the other

> Who cares? I care. I have an Xbox, and I love that I can play those games on my handheld with ease, without having to deal with a desktop UI on a small touchscreen, or reach for a mouse when plugged in. I have no interest in Steam. If I was to ditch console gaming altogether, I'd use GOG.

Ah so it does work fine! Thank you for acknowledging my entire point. You don't have to turn on anything to install apps out of the Microsoft Store. You DO have to dick about with Steam OS to install and configure software that you want to keep after a reboot though, since it's a stateless OS.

Clippy @segagamer.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
No, because that's not my point. The point is that Windows is starting to develop a console mode. Why would I talk about anything except that console mode in this thread? And the bigger question, why are you so ragey about something so mundane?

Clippy @segagamer.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
It's cute that you think SteamOS, or the games you install have no tracking or telemetry whatsoever. You don't have to "deal with Windows" under the hood at all. It's very much boot up, log in, launch game, exit game, shutdown.

Clippy @segagamer.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
For you, sure. Nothing you said counters or changes anything I said. You're just trying to pick fights for some reason.

You can boot up, log in, launch game, exit game, adjust volume/brightness, connect WiFi, navigate and shutdown the system without touching a mouse and keyboard, and with a controller friendly interface. That's a lot more console like than even 12 months ago, and it's only going to improve.

Eye popping. Court just unsealed Summary Judgment motions in New York Times v OpenAI / Microsoft. Easy to see why the AI companies had so many redactions (pink). Their own people wrote the lede for NYT, the "largest theft of labor in human history"... "more and more substitutive..." /1

Yep. Saw that someone finally released a translation for Segagaga, only to discover it was done entirely by AI and had a tonne of bad translations which miss local gags etc. It's so sad to see.
