Y'know, this starting with "had this dream" reminds me, I also dreamt of being a place once- though it was more becoming a place, specifically a post-apocalyptic underground megastructure, than a slower dream that starts with being a place The second screenshot contains the actually relevant part

"I had a dream last night

The world was in a state of post-apocalypse, it was being taken over by beings printed out by artificial intelligences, called AI-Generates, and I think I was playing as one of them?

It felt a bit Adventure Time-ish, a post-apocalyptic world filled by fairly random beings, except we definitely came in during that initial chaos when things were still settling.

For the most part, this dream was very a-logical, so it's hard to decipher my memories into anything that makes sense, but I know I had one sole friend

There was something about us finding an Adultifier with two others (the two others seeming somewhere between cartoonish dwarves and gnomes), we were all quite short, had simple designs, and had big eyes and cartoonish features, and gathered that those traits were something the right machine could fix, so we looked for one, and found the Adultifier- perfect!

I (OOC me, not character me) got the impression, from how they were gearing up for a big reveal of the characters after, their big transformation into cooler, more mature forms, that it was just gonna be something silly like everyone having legs 2 feet longer (they're tall now!)

But instead, it felt like everything, and my consciousness, switched off

When it came back, I was... buried in the ground, it seemed? I know I was looking up from a bit of a hole, and I tried to move, but couldn't"

"I saw something coming towards me, which had big eyes and just a Chinese dragon-ish head (like the costumes, papier-mache and boxy, not the illustrations) on a long torso, with too many secondary eyes and a weird tongue.

So I started struggling to get away, feeling vibrations from below as I did so, but it spoke with the voice of my sole friend and I quieted- I listened to it tell me about how things now were V-Gens, not AI-Generates. The AI-generates had had an image in mind and then been created to match it, while V-Gens were gained from just chopping up pre-existing genomes and putting them back together until it made something that functioned- my friend had stolen the body of a more effective one

I struggled again, and my friend said I'd been in the ground for quite a while now

I instinctively tried to see my body, and trying to *look* down instead of trying to *move* my head down switched my view to a camera showing a clean metallic underground room

I tried to struggle again, and saw lights turning on and off, doors opening and closing

I slowly got a sense of more of me, could see multiple cameras at once, could control the doors more easily, and realized somehow I'd merged with an underground facility during my centuries or millennia asleep"

YOU. YOU GET IT. You have no idea how much I've posted about being a space station or the like on Discord being a Place that people are In is gender. Though I feel like I come to it from an angle that's less Tardis and more, daydreams while reading Orion's Arm, and this one Tumblr post specifically

I mentioned in this thread that "There's also a limit to how far I go on degradation, though it's kinda fuzzy" So, I'm trying to describe what level of degradation I DO actually enjoy administering to others, and like is there a better way to articulate "dehumanizing, but not like, in a mean way"?

This was a delight to play through, some of the questions put things I've struggled to voice properly for a while VERY succinctly I got "Owner" 100%, and the very first two words of it are "You claim.", I am SO happy about that
