Bsky seem a lot more interested in perfecting atproto than they are in building a good microblogging platform so... yeah. Their user numbers have been falling for months now. I enjoy it here, but I don't really expect it to grow atp.

(and I'm a hypocrite because I'm using xitter again myself)

120

seekified @seekified.bsky.social · 04/08/2025

Their development has slowed down to a crawl, still missing tons of basic features, which has meant that the "Elon is a fascist" thing apparently wasn't enough to make people leave Xitter because this place isn't a good enough alternative.

I appreciate you 🫂 It's just a lot and tbh along with bsky completely fumbling their momentum I'm just like... why am I even here

seekified @seekified.bsky.social · 04/08/2025

No. Purki is disbanding 😭

seekified @seekified.bsky.social · 03/08/2025

"Secular music" even being a term is nuts imo, glad you're able to enjoy what you want now 🥳

Thank you Goeun for this treasure 🙏

11. "It's already irrational that the group kept going without the member who exposed the CEO for sexual crimes..."

32. "The fact that the CEO who sexually harassed a minor member is still at the company is the real problem. How can this be allowed?"

34. "They're even fabricating members' blogs? So only the foreign members remain now? It seems like they left only the foreign members without guardians behind.. The CEO committed sexual harassment against a minor member, so how can the remaining members be safe? I'm really worried about them."

94. "It's so heartbreaking that such terrible chaos happens in these young kids' lives. The industry seems unable to protect them from adult abuse or crimes. 1 hope there are systemic improvements. I hope this is resolved properly."

116. "l'm really worried that only the Japanese members are active. Foreign members have visa issues and find it hard to participate in lawsuits, so it's tough for them to be free from the company's control."

@pfrazee.com Paul, my man. Might there be some happy middle ground between "build in preparation of stage 4" and "no new basic features for six months"? Asking for a bloomf.

Xitter is a fascist trash fire but atp I feel like bsky really aren't even trying to compete. As I said recently they seem a lot more interested in perfecting atproto than adding features to the bsky social app 🤷 Shit sucks

If my capacity to care about stuff wasn't already at its limit, I'd be more actively upset about wooah being made to travel all over Asia seemingly without producing anything, and their company, whatever it's called this month, giving up on international wows 😓 #우아 #WOOAH

Man I really like bsky, but it's clear they're a lot more interested in (slowly) building the perfect protocol than having anyone actually USE said protocol 🤷 Six months between major feature updates at this stage ain't it
