At APS 2026, Dr. Andrea Wiglesworth shared a powerful mixed-methods study exploring how exposure to suicidal behavior impacts Native American emerging adults own suicidal thoughts and behaviors, with a preliminary thematic analysis of free response data! 🌱

Presented at SIP 2026, Elizabeth Winn’s research highlights that while disclosing suicidal thoughts remains uncommon, nearly all Native American young adults utilize at least one coping strategy, with emotion-oriented coping linked to significantly higher social well-being!! 🌱

Do you report self-harm history consistently? Our recent work using ABCD Study data shows 67% of youth who reported a history of self-injury at age 9-10 denied it just one year later. This highlights why we need repeated and developmentally sensitive check-ins to track youth mental health.
