A little homework assignment for the DOJ:
SEC. 3. Report to Congress.

Within 15 days of completion of the release required under Section 2, the Attorney General shall submit to the House and Senate Committees on the Judiciary a report listing:

(1) All categories of records released and withheld.

(2) A summary of redactions made, including legal basis.

(3) A list of all government officials and politically exposed persons named or referenced in the released materials, with no redactions permitted under subsection (b)(1).

Our thoughts will always be free.
Die Gedanken Sind Frei
(Our Thoughts Are Free)

 Die Gedanken sind frei

My thoughts freely flower,

Die Gedanken sind frei

My thoughts give me power.

No scholar can map them,

No hunter can trap them,

No man can deny:

Die Gedanken sind frei!
I think as I please

And this gives me pleasure,

My conscience decrees,

This right I must treasure;

My thoughts will not cater

To duke or dictator,

No man can deny--

Die Gedanken sind frei!
And if tyrants take me

And throw me in prison

My thoughts will burst free,

Like blossoms in season.

Foundations will crumble,

The structure will tumble,

And free men will cry:

Die Gedanken sind frei!
Neither trouble or pain

Will ever touch me again.

No good comes of fretting,

My hope's in forgetting.

Within myself still
I can think as I will,

But I laugh, do not cry:

Die Gedanken sind frei!

Three years since the Dobbs decision. (Based on Sting's "Russians".)

All across America
they're accusing women of hysteria
Ordered to defer to religious men
On the question when does life begin
Mister Trump said, "I will protect you,"
"Whether or not you want me to"
Choice means doing what you want to do
If Republicans love women too

Throughout the states and all the lands
We must defeat these deadly bans
They're traitors with no common sense
On the other side of the political fence
No science, no biology
For them it's about misogyny
Believe me when I say to you
I hope Republicans love women too

What might save us me and you
Is if Republicans love women too.

"Columbia University signals it will comply with Trump administration's demands" "The administration's demands include that Columbia ban masks on campus, punish some student protestors and reform the university's admissions process." www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...
The administration's nine demands include that Columbia ban masks, "complete disciplinary proceedings" for some student protestors, formalize a definition for antisemitism, reform its admissions process and place its Middle East, South Asian and African Studies department under "academic receivership," among other priorities, according to the letter the administration sent to Columbia last week.

The administration is also calling for "long-term structural" changes to the university that it wants to it to address in the near future.

Columbia has already compiled with at least one of the administration's demands. On Thursday, it suspended or expelled some of the students who participated in the takeover of Hamilton Hall and temporarily revoked the diplomas of some graduates, nearly a year after the takeover took place.

Some Jewish students expressed fear about the protests at Columbia and at other colleges across the country. Others have reported being assaulted within the last year as protests have, at times, taken over college campuses.

Lawyers Plan to Sue Federal Government on Behalf of Jan. 6 Rioters www.nytimes.com/2025/03/07/u...
A team of lawyers is preparing to sue the federal government on behalf of hundreds of people pardoned by President Trump for their role in the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, claiming that the rioters were mistreated by agencies like the Justice Department and the Bureau of Prisons.

The lawyers leading the effort include Mark McCloskey, who rose to prominence five years ago after he pointed an AR-15-style rifle at social justice protesters outside his home in St. Louis, and Peter Ticktin, a former classmate and longtime ally of Mr. Trump.

Even before Mr. Trump granted clemency to all of the nearly 1,600 people prosecuted in connection with Jan. 6, many defendants had been itching to seek damages from the federal government. The president’s sweeping reprieves have only emboldened them in their efforts to claim they are the victims, not the perpetrators, of the attack.

Any attempt to sue the federal government over Jan. 6 could face an uphill climb in court, although in this instance the lawyers could be aided by the government itself.

Several top career officials ousted at Justice Department www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...
By Perry Stein, Shayna Jacobs, Carol D. Leonnig and Ann E. Marimow
The Justice Department ousted multiple senior career officials Friday, including a top ethics official and pardon attorney, in a department that has been beset by a wave of terminations and upheaval in the first weeks of the Trump administration.
Jeffrey Ragsdale, the head of the Office of Professional Responsibility, and Liz Oyer, the U.S. pardon attorney, were among those removed, according to multiple people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive personnel matter.
Tara Twomey, the head of the executive office for U.S. Trustees, which oversees the administration of bankruptcy cases and private trustees, was also removed, the people familiar said.

"Rich People Are Firing a Cash Cannon at the US Economy—But at What Cost?" "...it doesn’t just change the availability of designer handbags or hotel suites; it affects how entire industries organize themselves." www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
Americans, of course, aren’t a monolith. While our fates may be tied, they’re not tied quite so closely that the richest decile’s windfall portends prosperity and stability for everyone else, even if it’s enough to statistically mask the deepening chasm for a while. It may very well be a warning sign of the opposite.

Letting so many of the country’s economic resources accrue to so few people, Zandi says, risks a lot more than just the economy—it eats away at social cohesion in ways that have leaked into other areas of American life and politics. It breeds distrust and recrimination among individuals and groups of people, as well as toward the systems and institutions we’re supposed to trust to make society work in ways that are at least minimally fair. The end result is a combination of economic fragility and social disaffection that eventually even high earners might not be able to buy their way out of.
