Forced Labour dressed up as something else… that’s how.

I already answered your point in this thread.🙂 When you pay your national insurance you are paying for this years' retirees.... agreed. My mistake. We paid for retirees all through our lives. When you're told how much you stand get this year and it is then spread over the year - it's an annuity.

You are right, I Am wrong. The social contract that funds our pensions though is contingent upon and calculated by my need, my age and upon how much I paid into my NI contributions ‘pot’. It’s an annuity of sorts.

Yes, we need an explanation to understand better. If you've paid National Insurance (Stamp in the old days) for all your working life it was/is a method of saving not a benefit. Your state pension IS your annuity from that saving. Those who did not pay into the scheme are receiving a benefit.

Most likely does know I'd have thought - otherwise wouldn't be quite so assertive, drawing our attention to it on BBC afore conference where his recent history is to kick things down into the long grass. win win for him -signals intent, research done for him by Starmer.

I am so tired of the gaslighting that everything Burnham promises/proposes/ is new and not already in play as the proper manifesto . But guess that’s the point of gaslighting- getting you tired and ready to give in the new narrative 🙄

Because MSM need clicks and getting our fear and outrage are essential for those clicks.

Glad we're standing up to misinformation Mr Burnham-could we stand up to: Black Shorts terrorising RNLI endangering life by saboteurs of RNLI boats? How about the Posh bigots of Piddlington harassing their own neighbours? Perhaps the vigilantes holding Dover Folkstone Portsmouth hostage? Arrests?

Learning the lessons accepting responsibility and deciding how to deal with the outcome are the issue of the day. The Lib/Lab pact/coalition ushered in Thatcher. The Lib/Tory pact/coalition ushered in austerity and thus Brexit and the demise of Lib Dems. It's part of history. Own it.

Take a deep breath, read what you wrote back and then ask yourself- What political and social circumstances led to people in the referendum believing that Farage and Leave were right? Just ask the right questions and the answer is clear, Cameron Clegg and Corbyn enabled Farage, Johnson and Brexit

WE now know that polls are not to be trusted and as Curtice explained...yesterday to Lib Dems, they have have had their moment in the sun...according to polls unless they make changes. Acknowledging Lib Dem culpability/contribution to the environment we face today would, I think, be a good start 2/3

Ok. Beautiful bit of irony though when Dunt pointed out that Lib Dems? Ed Davey, as part of the coalition, contributed handsomely to rise of Farage/ UKIP/Brexit/Reform by supporting Cameron austerity that led to groudswell of anti EU sentiment and Brexit. 1/2

I notice he takes at least 3 stances when offering op-eds in guardian, I and social media…but broadly he was remains a Burnham acolyte and advocated the coup.

Hardly surprising.. so far talk talk but no walk.. wait till something pragmatic practical non populist has to be done. Reading OBrien, Dunt, Toynbee and other MSM client journalists before.Burnhams ascension- and now- it’s clear they HAVE to maintain their stance For own self worth.🙄

Ratcliff is rich, wants to stay rich, is a tax exile, an immigrant in Monaco. After promoting Brexit moved his business affairs to EU & quite probably ‘sponsored’ by other global interests intent on making more money for more oligarchs. Forgive me for not believing he has the UKs interests at heart

Who commissioned the poll? we know from Reform that polls are commissioned to promote an opinion not to record opinion. Here we go… it was always about undermining a Labour govt. Starmer was the false red flag… now it’s Burnhams turn. It’s an anti Labour narrative.

The 'unnamed sources' re Starmer are the pro sources re Burnham &whilst he talks the talk but avoids the walk he is in safe PLP territory. Once he begins to actually enact a policy, commend a budget - do something or is seen fail to respond appropriately to situation cracks will show. Give it time.

My question are: Does the unilateral Declaration of Independence make them undocumented immigrants outside of the village boundary? Are they stealing jobs from UK by working outside the village? Are they receiving benefits from the UK? Surely the BBC, Mail and Telegraph will want to know?

I've learned a loved one is not alone with Alzheimers - it's a shared, at times desperately devastating debilitating process that robs everyone involved. But love & hope remain. For all my worries, critiques concerns Mr Burnham has my heartfelt support as he celebrates a life well lived & loved.

The coup was justified: "Only Burnham can defeat Reform". How's that going then? Nero fiddled whilst Rome burned- Burnham spent a week doing his pet projects, ignoring the Black Shorts, reneging on pre PM promises, hiding up north ignoring 9/11, ran a run & enabled Reform's assault. Do SOMETHING!

Bumbling Burnham & Union sponsors enabled UK democracy to be bought by pardoned felon & ex pat billionaire then sold to private political company for White British morons. Seemingly there is nothing the PLP, Govt or parliament can do about it except ask membership to chip in for £20🙄

Sadly, my worst fears about the players in the coup, the reasons for the coup are all becoming evident. Burnham not up to the job- members knew this which is why they were prevented from having a say - and now the consequences of his indecisions are visible. PLP/Burnham are now under control - weep.

secretthinker.bsky.social @secretthinker.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
Sadly, PLP were played by vested interests that supported Burnham because Starmer was a not a career politician they couldn't manipulate. Burnham on the other hand is a an Aaardman Wallace claymation mouldable with fingerprints of said interests clear to see. I weepthat Labour came to this.

I'd settle for getting stuff done, completing manifesto, tackling Balaclava Black Shorts Knobbly Knees kin in a timely effective fashion - actually doing the job, acknowledge the cumulative success of previous two years rather than taking plaudits for recent achievements-over bouncing back & forth.

This is the calibre of thug you can expect to find in RefUK . Their battle cry to *protect are wimmin and gurls* is more likely to be a call to beat them with a crutch for the sin of freedom of speech. Low-life thug this one and all those piling on.

There is a reason it didn't go to membership - soon MSM will reveal whether this has materially damaged coffers - I can't believe I am alone in eschewing calls for funds etc. My biggest gripe is that I don't feel heard by the PLP or the NEC I don't feel able to trust them to not do this again.

Starmer meticulously worked through the brickbats etc to deliver a manifesto that would be difficult to undo Burnham has had most of spade work done for him. Burnham's sponsors & insipid easily frightened PLP MSM puppets forget his ego is easy target for the vested interests that want Labour to fail

I can't believe after 52 years of voting Labour & all the internal bickering and manoeuvring from Wilson onwards - that we are still at ground zero, Starmer gave me hope. For all those carping-in terms of policy there is no change to the manifesto - the challenge will be to complete it before GE 1/2

He may have lifted your and your viewspaper's spirits- its what you worked for & wanted. Reality vs Rhetoric for too many is a damp squib, much talk, lots of backtracking, several u-turns & a rather uncomfortable encounter with reality. Rhetoric and Reality are strangers..Hope? no Disappointment.

Very well put. Turbulent times ahead. When PLP realise their mistake it will be too late. Vested interests including MSM want Labour to fail - Starmer went some way to thwarting them. Burnham, courting popularity, appears unable to decide anything. Winter of discontent ahead.

Sadly, he wasn't promoted to PM, he wasn't elected PM - he was anointed by £350k of donors, insipid easily frightened PLP and some Labour MPs conspiring with their handlers in MSM because they think it's a game - them first, party second, voters third and membership last.

You know that 'Karma' thing? Badenough is right - fickle MSM honeymoon is over - we've had headlines - now for the small print & all the niggly little questions about actual detail & what's really changed. It was not Starmer vested interests were after. It was a Labour government - round 1 to them.
