Right? Like with very generous definitions I'm seeing 2 of 12 words. That's sprinkled, not filled.

1.) I think the intent of his comment was more akin to "imagine if they took out ___" as a hypothetical if we weren't doing a first strike war against them. 2.) A POTUS who makes war based on his delusions needs to be removed from office even in that charitable interpretation.

Thankfully after he proved he had not learned his lesson, leading her to actually vote to convict, she has learned her lesson and doesn't give him the benefit of the doubt any longer. Right?

Yeah, the shopkeeper was embarrassed about the deficiency of their merchandise (no extradimensional space to hold more volume than is possible or weighing less than its contents) so they're taking it out on the customer asking about it.

That's just how blocking here works - if the person quoted blocks the person quoting then it no longer shows up in the quote. It's probably a good policy to prevent harassment, but it can be surprising to see it in action.

Eh, that quote was basically saying his top goal was keeping the Union together. He said he didn't agree with either "only union if yes/no slavery." His racist quote is "I am not...in favor of...social and political equality of the white and black races..." www.loc.gov/resource/mal...

This reads like an acknowledgement that the actual events were indefensible since it's absolutely undeniable they changed it to make it justified.

I think this version is even worse than the names confusion, though. Missouri doesn't have an NBA team, so if their Senator is thinking basketball he should be going to teams like Mizzou. Or at least aware.

He raises a fair point that AI isn't actually intelligence. He's right (in a broken clock sense) that SI can arguably be a more accurate description. "Simulated intelligence" is what it should stand for, though, in that it's just an imitation, but actually crafted intelligence.

020
Sam Eckels @seckels.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
Of course, your gut makes sense. Because the rate of billionaires is FAR lower. About 3 in a million among Americans. So moving past thinking that's the cohort of people they're discussing to thinking it's what they meant to say on the tax rate is very defensible.

Muenster has a great stretch and flavor to it.
060
Sam Eckels @seckels.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
Yes, but the tax being discussed isn't 1%. It's 0.1% (on wealth). Otherwise the billionaire would be charged $10 million.
100
Sam Eckels @seckels.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
That's fair. There's a reasonable argument that the actual impact is more like $10 to someone making $100k (who is a lot more comfortable than your more extreme example.

I think you might have blocked her for this post. It's a real ahistorical kind of straw man to think doing word processor tasks in Word is using it as a substitute for ChatGPT, not the other way around. LLMs are decent at a lot of tasks (and genuinely good at a few). But they have downsides, too.
A response to a post. "You are really suggesting people us MS Word as a substitute for ChatGPT? It has been a garbage tool for 20 years. Now it’s garbage with Microsoft pushing AI as well."

Do you think the country has been going the right direction? Armed thugs abducting people off the street? Bombing random fishermen in Latin America? Boondoggles in the Middle East? Resurgence of eliminated diseases? Billions of graft for POTUS and his friends? But sure, hate religious freedom.

Sam Eckels @seckels.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
No, $100. 1/1000 of billion is million. 1/1000 of 100k is $100. That's the ratio they're comparing. The "1%" is about the upper crust, though rolling that in as billionaires is a much smaller cohort than the top 1%.

1.) Wow, what an incredibly Bluesky response. I'm not sure if this is satirizing the platform or authentic. Beautiful. 2.) If she was using a cloud version or one with AI tools, that's a sunk risk. Putting it in different platform adds more. 3.) You infer a lot that isn't implied. Just FYI.

No, I think it's already in Word. Amazon tells her "you used Wingdings and we don't support that." Then she uses features built into the tool she uses instead of putting the whole manuscript into a different tool (that is noted for plagiarism).

Yes! It's very important to Trump that we believe him when he lies about it, so we should be careful not to do that work for him even just as a shorthand.

Right? Like, the first time it breaks out of its sandbox you could reasonably argue it was not foreseeable. After that you need to be showing at a minimum strong due diligence and rapid reporting. Even with that it might still be criminal. They seem to have had neither.

Rookie mistake, it's not for connecting two cigarette lighters in one car. It's about jump-starting one car with another car. The trick is turning one of the cars inside out so you can plug them both in with that length of cable.

Oh, I didn't realize Jeffries met with Kushner about his official responsibilities of "peace missions." That totally legitimate position is entirely analogous to the power we have, unfortunately, delegated to Trump via the Presidency.
020
Sam Eckels @seckels.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
One is POTUS. The other is not even an elected or confirmed official. Jeffries wasn't even meeting with Kushner about his made-up position's portfolio. You can argue meeting with Kushner is fine without pretending not to understand the difference. This post is beneath you.

Yes, I understand they tried to name it after their sick nickname for the DOD. But their acronym for it lines up with their actual priorities - manipulating the stock market using our country's resources to boost their portfolios.

I think I fall into this category. On the one hand, it slows down some of the ongoing damage he's doing. The vanity projects end, for example. Maybe the war crimes go down, too. On the other hand, lack of consequences makes it harder to dismantle the network. Relief and regret. Neutral on balance

There was at least one prominent voice on this platform saying they'd prefer for the Republicans (I believe including Paxton) to win because if the Democrats let the Overton Window shift on trans rights that's a bigger game over than a few seats. Which I disagree with in this cycle but understand.
