Last week the @unepwcmc.bsky.social updated global Critical Habitat screening layer was published in Scientific Data. The day I heard, Joni Mitchell's Big Yellow Taxi came on when driving home. A perfect soundtrack for a project safeguarding paradise from paving!

Finally deleted the bird app, FB too. Very freeing. Insta next.
Screenshot of a post on X. The post has a photo of Elon Musk raising his hand in an apparent Nazi salute, with the caption "Well, there's my final push to leave the cesspit. So long, and thanks for all the fasch".

My former supervisor, Prof. Felix Eigenbrod, has a new PhD opportunity that builds on the work we did on biodiversity, land use and renewables. I had a fantastic time working with Felix and encourage you to apply! www.findaphd.com/phds/project...

In Brussels for the inaugural @renewablesgrid.bsky.social Wingspan conference. Anyone else on here there? I'll try to bring some of the discussions here. #Wingspan2024

Was in the first 1% of users thanks to @danirabaiotti.bsky.social but have shamefully followed that up with only 7 posts. Really now feeling the loss of Twitter so will be making the effort on here and Mastodon from now on so I have something to scroll through on the toilet...

Looks like I was the only Bluesky user at yesterday's @chathamhouse.bsky.social energy transition event so bringing it to a new space! Fantastic panel on critical minerals with Prof. Paul Ekins among others (centre, unfortunately obscured!). Why are they critical and to whom?

Imagine my surprise that this article focused on the proximate cause - price of switching out FFs for decentralised RE - as opposed to the ultimate cause, WE NEVER PRICE IN ENVIRONMENTAL EXTERNALITIES

Thrilled, and tbh a little shocked, that UK govt has actually listened to scientists in supporting a moratorium on deep sea mining. Precautionary principle in action! #DeepSeaMining #CriticalMinerals www.gov.uk/government/n...
