trying to design a name+menu cover for the bubblewrap game internally, ive been calling it pocketpopper/bubblepopper (which is nice and simple!) but ive been drawn to names like "poka popa" or "boba popa" or etc.; onomatopia bouba-kiki-type sounds. to me, it puts an emphasis on feeling

the feature exists because i really wanted to get the 30x16 (expert) game size to exist and this just seemed like the ideal way to compress grids larger than 16x16 there was a lot of pondering going on before the way to approach the feature found me.. im happy with it, but it still needs polishing!

im still pondering upon the game design, and idk if this extra complexity is redundant/tedious/unengaging, but i do enjoy the aspect of having to defuse the pockets after clearing out the safe ones - i think it flips the game on its head in a strange way

to elaborate on the dud pockets, they can be "defused" if theyre not next to any unopened pockets but ALSO, if theyre next to other duds, they must neighbour the most amount of duds in the cluster to defuse successfully

the goal: to pop all the air pockets the problem: some of the pockets are duds (faulty; mines)! they properly pop under certain conditions the lines: popped pockets point to dud pockets, but there is ambiguity in the direction (e.g. horizontal line means a dud is by the left, the right, or both)

im not even a vtuber person but oh my god this pisses me off so much... all the cool karaoke subtitles or color-coded captions you may have seen on youtube will be gone. I could argue that it was an accessibility feature but it seems like youtube has a track record of removing those anyway.

anyway, there are some things that couldve gone better like, the pixels dont feel too sharp too me; i shouldve sent out a vectorised file instead? additionally, i really wanted the white border on the outside! (btw, i used stickerapp for manufacturing!) but besides that, im quite happy with this
