What Gets Left Behind

Ivy has spent the past four years in silence, swallowed in the grief of her mother’s death and the absence of her father. She’s accepted that she might just be doomed to this life until she meets Griff, the elderly man at the cemetery, who insists she go out in the world, firstly by meeting the guide at the local museum, Bear. He’s everything that Ivy isn’t: radiant, outgoing, and, of course, he talks.
