Baked McBride @seaphil68.bsky.social · 6hI read the plaque after I posted this and immediately noticed the mention of an MVP in 1931. In 1931, Klein finished second in the BWAA MVP voting to winner Frankie Frisch. But it turns out that he DID win the MVP awarded by The Sporting News in 1931 (and 1932). 040

Baked McBride @seaphil68.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Braves-Dodgers is such a "can't both teams lose?" matchup. I have trouble even watching their games since I hate them both so much. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I have no strong rooting interest in Brewers-Padres, I like them both, will be happy with whoever wins there. 010

Baked McBride @seaphil68.bsky.social · 28/09/2026It not being especially close is a statement on Schmidt, not Robinson. I have no idea what /s means. Sarcasm? And in the end, it's just baseball. Chill. 000

Baked McBride @seaphil68.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Says any objective observer. Schmidt was as close to Brooks' equal defensively as you can get and his offensive numbers (and three MVPs) put him way ahead. 200
