I don’t know, maybe get quotes from some other website.
The move has attracted both criticism and praise from the research community. “I actually like this policy,” mathematician Alex Kontorovich wrote on X. “I’m not going to read your 42 papers this month. Pick two, your very best two.”

I’ve been wanting to do it for a while and finally dove in last spring. After far too long. It’s very different and so far mixed outcomes. No offense to anyone involved.

I decided to start calculus with definite integrals this semester (and last) because that idea is important and I thought rectangles were more relatable than limits.

I like how at the same time we are creating new majors like ‘how to use a chatbot’, while we simultaneously hate chat bots and do things like press zero or scream ‘Agent!, ‘Human!’, ‘Person!’ any time we make a phone call for help.

Ouch.
Linda Nilson, the founding director emeritus of Clemson University’s Office of Teaching Effectiveness and Innovation, said that switching to a pass/fail model “demotivates students.”

“My guess is that what a lot of students will do is they’ll take a lot of assignments, put it into ChatGPT, and go drink,” Nilson said.

As for reducing student stress, “learning has got to be a little bit stressful,” Nilson said.

University of Michigan Taps Vanderbilt Provost As Next Leader
David Jesse
August 18, 2026, 9:08 a.m.
By David Jesse
The University of Michigan has selected Vanderbilt University Provost C. Cybele Raver to be its next president, according to multiple reports. Raver would be the second woman to hold the post at one of the top public institutions in the country.

Raver would replace Domenico Grasso, who had his interim president tag lifted earlier this year after Syracuse University Chancellor Kent Syverud, who had been selected to be the full-time president, was diagnosed with brain cancer and had to withdraw. Grasso was named interim when Santa J. Ono resigned as Michigan’s president in a failed attempt to lead the University of Florida.
