Definitely a different Sean, I was using 3dsMax in 1997

Ah, Christmas, the season of love and caring. Hope everyone is having an excellent day!

I still sometimes get chills when the soundtrack gets suspenseful as he's about to step off the plank.

I know he'll get through it, thinking of you guys!

In the immortal words of Ian Malcolm "your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."

Agreed, with a good French onion dip. Never had the Old Bay chips, I'll have to keep an eye out! Oh, and Doritos. Can't go wrong with Doritos.

I like Google Keep, and I send a lot of emails to myself! Oh, and post-it notes. Endless post-it notes. Google docs for longer note organization and outlining

When my industry is healthy, everyone is working and junior artists can get into a studio with barely a reel. When my industry is a mess, like it currently is, even having a 25+ year long resume doesn't guarantee anything, you basically HAVE to know someone to get a new job. I wish it was different.

Built a cigar box guitar a few weeks ago from a kit. It's great, very fun! But I'm not a cigar smoker, so I made it a cocoa box!

That biker scout helmet would look very nice over the door of my home office. Just saying.

Hahahaha, well, I'm pretty quiet here!

Very nice! Is that Mantaflow? How long did it take to sim?

I'm tempted to let SNL's Weekend Update be my only source of news for the next 4 years.

Not really related, but I just had someone email me through my website asking if I'd be interested in reading their book they just published. They want my address to mail it to me, and I haven't responded yet because something just feel suspicious

I remember Lucy and Maxine, your house is where I learned I was allergic to cats.

Oh definitely, one of my fondest memories, as well! And for my entire life, every time I've seen a model train landscape, I have to tell whoever I'm with (usually my wife) about it!

Is there a plan to release all of these monsters in a book format?

It's scary for sure, but so far we've been relatively safe where we are.

Holy crap, Brent, that's horrible. Kudos to you for not having in and doing it.

Sean Kennedy @seankennedyopenvfx.bsky.social · 10/01/2025

Yep, we're safe where we are, a few miles from the Hurst fire. Glad there's no wind today.

In other news, every time I see Venus fly traps for sale at a nursery, I buy one. I have yet to manage to keep one alive more than a couple months. Someday, someday...

This wind in LA is insane! Never felt the house shake from wind before. Thankfully we are far enough from any fires that we're not worried about flames. Friends evacuated their workplaces early today and are safe. Fire and wind sure is a horrible mix.

My printer is vintage now, I guess. I can't find new ink cartridges, only refurbished, which is fine for black, but the color cartridges are always screwed up. But I just can't bring myself to get a new printer when this one works perfectly fine. (Thankfully my wife has a modern, awesome printer)

Oh wow, interesting. I always love when we have high winds, but this sounds excessive! Hope my roof stays on!

Spent the first day of the new year at Knott's Berry Farm. Very fun and chill timeout, and it's always fun seeing the blacksmith and the glass blowers. These Star Wars glasses are pretty great, but also pretty expensive!

Man, that was mind-blowing to see for the first time all those years ago! And it still is!

Speaking of guitars, I'm pretty sure I own the only Star Wars customized Blackstar Fly 3 that exists. It'd be fun to do this to a full size amp!

I wish I knew more Christmas songs on guitar. And by more I mean one.

Did I make props for my first D&D game in 40 years? Yep, I sure did. And we had a blast. Can't wait to do it again!

Lincoln, interesting. Great movie, but not one I can rewatch a lot. Source Code, oh man, excellent film!

I played D&D a lot when I was 11-13, but not since. Brushing up, because next week I'll DM a game for friends! Should be fun! #makeitupasyougo
