Small Saga was a real treat! Quite easy outside of some optional battles, and I wish I could have had just a little more time with it. But it never tries to overextend itself and every minute of it oozes personality and charm. Short but sweet!

Angeline Era was a bit of a thinker but I really enjoyed my time with it! It’s very clear about what it draws inspiration from, but at the same time makes something wholly unique!

First SaGa game I’ve finished and it was enjoyable, but can’t say I LOVED it. At its worst it’s a 6/10 and at it‘s best it’s an 8/10. At lot of interesting ideas in play, a lot of which unfortunately end up feeling a bit more shallow than at first

While this was probably the most enjoyable version of Dragon Quest 7 for me, it still couldn’t make me LOVE the game…but it did a lot right. Charming art direction, fantastic voice acting, and some genuine attempts at changing things up

Being the first time I’ve finished this game, that ending is gonna need to marinate so I can peel back it’s layers a bit. Beneath the tragic irony and cynicism there’s still that glimmer of hope, that the wrongs we see now won’t be truly forgotten no matter how hard the perpetrators will try

Might very well be my personal GOTY. Will need a little time to really digest, but it was a beautiful and clearly deeply personal story from Yoshiro Kimura. But also a widely relatable one, especially as an adult straddling that line between burn out and the desire to keep trudging forward anyways

Today’s #RandomGameSaturday is a special one for me. Circa 2010 or so i leaned about this weird SFC RPG called “Idea no Hi” or “Day of the Idea” and fell in love with it. Imagine if DQ or Mother was made by a cynical pervert manga artist (Koji Aihara). Oh and I’m working on a fan translation :3c

Started Stray Children last night and it’s off to a very intriguing start. Right off the the bat, it exemplifies the cultural exchange between east and west RPGs have always had, with the battle system very obviously taking inspiration from Undertale

Guess who de-seeded and chopped a bunch of habanero peppers last night, without wearing gloves, in preparation for making pepper jelly and woke up with spicy fingers this morning 😎

Another 3DO game for this week’s #RandomGameSaturday The recent Nightdive remaster was good but it’s a very different experience since it used the PC port, which had a completely different map layout and progression. Really ahead of it’s time and had actually good FMV acting
