It hit me really hard the first time I had a specific friend mix a song for me. It came out so much better than anyone had managed, and they started breaking down how I do things, and how they worked that in to better highlight some of it while masking other parts.

I think it shows that what we valued in company has changed. I'll take your fireside gathering with a couple close friends over a crowded bar 9 times out of 5, because I would rather have 3 people I care about over 20 people I'm vaguely amicable towards. I want connection in my company.

As someone who collaborates with people in music, I love this word to describe it! Like yeah, we're all giving it everything we've got, and no one wants to be outdone by another artist, but i's to elevate the project as a whole, not to put anyone else down.
