@stroughtonsmith Oh boy. I had this issue in one of my apps and thought it was my SwiftUI menu-related code. Asked Claude and Codex to rewrite it twice without any luck. 🤦‍♂️ One other issue I noticed was that it tries re-rendering the whole menu under certain circumstances, causing the menu to […]

@stroughtonsmith This API is so unpredictable. It doesn't behave consistently at all. Sometimes the SwiftUI version (`safeAreaBar) is better. I've sent this project (github.com/sdtaheri/ScrollEdgeEffec…) to Apple: FB23064349 Look at the screenshots. It got worse on iOS 27 even […]

@stroughtonsmith For months I’ve been paying for the $100 plan of Claude. I’m a senior iOS developer where I work. This is like a super intelligent intern that completely listens to me and does everything I want from it. Never been happier. Worth every penny.

What's wrong with Xcode Cloud? It gets stuck at archiving for macOS.

@markgurman Hey! Can we expect the M5 (Pro) Mac mini anytime soon or they're going to skip it?

@stroughtonsmith I assume they have the same issue on iPad. I don’t remember this popover to have this amount of empty state.

@andyl Hey! Hope you’re doing fine. I’ve read your conversation with @stroughtonsmith about the iOS 18 tab APIs. I have a question: I tried setting a UISplitViewController as the VC of a tab. The thing is, when I have `managingNavigationController` property […] [Original post on mastodon.social]

@stroughtonsmith In beta 2, you could use Globe+Arrow key to do this. They added swipe in beta 3 to complete the experience. 👌

@stroughtonsmith It still can't play two videos in Safari (or essentially anywhere else) simultaneously. :(

@tomn94 Hi. Persian Keyboard regression in iPadOS 26: FB17856708 I'd appreciate it if you could send it to appropriate people.

@stroughtonsmith I wish they got rid of Stage Manager and kept the SlideOver/Split View around. That could coexist with the full screen mode easily. Windowing for power user, full screen with baby multitasking for others.

@rizzi Hi. If you set a limit on Item Age, the sync doesn’t work reliably if you have multiple devices. As soon as I set Hide Items Older Than to None, the issue goes away.
