Painted backdrops. Done by people, with talent. I can’t even measure how much better it is than any slop farm. It means something.

Today we did clay; this is my cup and/or candy dish. When it dries in a few days, I will paint it with as much foresight as I have given this mould. (Which is a lot cause I suck. )

It’s a clay mould of a maybe cup with skeleton face on the front

He was one of the best character actors, someone they put in the movies to add color, to add flavor. His exasperation on screen was second to none. Long live Beef.

Now Showing: first time watch. He looks good. You can tell his age by where the belt is. It’s like rings on a tree.

Now Showing: the grands are having a sleepover so I’m showing them this one. I’m using it as a covert intro to grown up horror, as Amy Holden Jones co-wrote it. Shh! Don’t tell!

Do you know what is great though? Both Dinosaur Jr. and The Afghan Whigs have new albums out, both fantastic. Not in a “good for them” way, but a genuine continuation of their spirits with incredible tunes to back it up. This is great music.

DID YOU KNOW? The bridge in The General wasn’t supposed to collapse, but Buster Keaton thought it was hilarious and kept it in.

Happy The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Day to all who celebrate! My personal recommendation would be to watch Hooper's first two legendary films, and then jump forward to 2022's hilarious Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which offers nothing but killer setpieces. I think it's real swell.

This is a big one for a lot of Phans. Reggie the Ice Cream Man anchored the series with tongue in cheek machismo and a losing way with the ladies; Reggie Bannister was the perfect actor to bring the character to life. The stories will come, and they will all be about the kindness of the man. #Rip

Now Showing: if you haven’t seen this yet, you should. It’s bananas. We love bananas round these parts.
