Thank you! I should add that the CIC fix only applies to the snescic-lock-resync flavor on 12F628. The regular SuperCIC 16F630 lock should be fine. The other important part is an OSCR firmware change; it needs an extra MCC register write to disable the write protect line going to the memory pack.

Looks fairly "empty", that one. What is it? Also whoops

If anyone had issues to reflash Satellaview cartridges via OSCR, @sd2snes.de did a deep dive & figured out a whole bunch of new documentation about Satellaview 8Ms! There are actually blocks that could be locked, which is a thing that was pretty much unknown until now. github.com/oscartreader...

I’ve got one of the most awesome birthday presents I’ve ever received from @sd2snes.de last week. Even though it says Made by Krikkz on the label, this FX PAK PRO was hand-assembled by ikari_01 and has a special dedication to our deceased friend Near with a golden Higan logo printed on the back.
FX PAK PRO in a clear shell with label.“In Memoriam
Near
1983-2021”
printing on the back of the FX PAK PRO cartridge, with a white/golden Higan logo on the right side of it.

Thanks for the updates! Might be good to note: if people are using a custom m3nu.bin, that file needs to be updated with your "menu.bin file Updater". Until I did that, I didn't see the new context menu items and didn't immediately realize what caused it. sd2snes.de/themes/

Hmmm, sad :< There might be subtle changes in pinout or initialization, though at least the PCB layout seems to be same for both... Might be easiest to just get a 750 😅

It wasn't straightforward, the original project was not made to compile with GCC so I needed to adapt a bunch of files, even the "gcc" startup file from STM. Just did the same for the H723 but can't test ^^; Try this if you dare xD sd2snes.de/tmp/vtxdumpe...

I made an improved firmware for programming the C/V ROMs in particular, with better error recovery, connection test (via line capacitance measurements) and some stuff I forgot ^^; Here's a write-up: github.com/mrehkopf/VTX...

Should just work, starting with 1.11.0 I put markers in the menu ROM so the editor/patcher would find the assets automagically. Do tell me if it doesn't. 😆

No idea. xD The set doesn't look too old... Does it help when you slap it? Might as well be a bad solder joint or a plug that needs reseating. I doubt this unit still has a (scratchy) potentiometer for +B adjustment 🤔 In any case my #1 suspect would be something in power supply / +B regulation.

Sony use "M" for microfarads in their manuals, I've also seen a legend in some manual where they state that "pF = MMF" which is even more cursed

Hmm, could be a +B drop which would result in a couple of secondary voltages dropping, such as deflection, anode voltage, screen, and focus. Vertical deflection seems unaffected but it might be derived using a downstream regulator with enough headroom.. Looking forward to the results of the recap =)

We are now making SuperStation prototypes. Here’s a look at the internal mechanical design. We have a default heatsink with support for a low-noise fan.

It had quite a unique mod - two buttons on the front allowed you to flip the picture over, reversing deflection yoke polarity. Eventually I removed it because it caused some trouble (spontaneous collapse and contrast all over the place...)

Yup! Bought two of them off eBay and each was modded in some way. The one buried under the desk was sadly shipped in a cardboard box with *no* padding at all and got beat up badly, bezel cracked, tube was basically loose inside the case - but survived. (Terrible burn-in though. ^^;)
