Himura’s voice silences the shouting of the crowd in one fell swoop. More news articles and broadcasts appear in the sky, hovering over the players for all to see. Izuku reads fast. HPSC Bars Heroes From Interfering in Online Game Incident, one says. Below Heroes Paygrade? Death Game Gone Wild, reads another. And finally, Heroes Enraged as HPSC Bans Them From Joining SAO.

The words ring in Izuku's head, nauseating and terrifying. He thinks he's gonna be sick.

Izuku's a Quirkless Uni student looking for an escape from his real world problems. He didn't think video games would be too life threatening a hobby, but when he joins Sword Art Online he's met with a world he can't log out of and real life consequences should his HP drop to zero. Unfortunate circumstances force him to learn to play alone, but he soon meets another player who has his own reasons for flying solo. But hey, maybe the two of them can play solo together.

OR, the one where Izuku's stuck in SAO, meets Kacchan, and the two of them (along with a few others) work to clear the game and get everyone home before they all die, one way or another.

The Hero Killer brings the sword up and Tenya can’t see what he’s doing, not from this angle. He trembles in fear, pain, and anger.

OR, what if Izuku Midoriya had died before going to UA and he was never there to save Iida from the Hero Killer
(This is a short fic made to add context to the main work in this series, but it can also be read as a standalone for anyone who hasn't read it)
