It works incredibly well! Especially when they all astroturf each other. These accounts and engagement groups make so much noise they completely block out any honest content creators. Advertisers don't know any better so they pump a truckload of money into them.

As a developer, do you block engagement farmers? I wrote a Java program to pull tweets from the fastest growing accounts on Twitter before Elon changed the API pricing. The results were more than amusing. These engagement farmers will be here soon. Just wait.
