ADAC in the linked article only tested AC, Solar DC Charging, 11 kW and 22 kW. Here is the relevant data translated by Firefox' translation feature

This might be a European-pilled concern due to high energy costs over here. Also I don't even own a car! But this bugged me ever since my coworker had mentioned this quirk about some EVs

Germany's automobile association tested charging losses of a few EVs here: www.adac.de/rund-ums-fah... (German only sadly) While the Model Y seems to not care too much, AC charging (230V 10A) the Mercedes CLA 350 EQ seems almost wasteful.

@techconnectify.bsky.social You had hooked me on the concept of slow charging EVs at home but recently I discovered that slow AC charging tends to have the worst efficiency (energy charged vs. energy "consumed"). Did you ever look into this?

When it's time to vote in Germany, we just get a letter from the local county/city government. To vote by mail, you can just scan a QR code to request the paperwork including a stamped envelope. When voting in person you just need your ID card and/or the letter you got initially.

As someone who doesn't live in the US, it seems odd to me that you have to register to vote. I think removing as many barriers to voting as possible would be much more effective than forcing people to vote.
