skrunkly wonkle @scrumpl3.bsky.social · 12/02/2026819hp is not meaningless, it shows there is significantly more power to be gained from an electric vehicle than there is a gas one with the same amount of energy, your instant disregard for numbers really shows that you disregard fact over your own opinion. 100
skrunkly wonkle @scrumpl3.bsky.social · 12/02/202650 mpg in a gas hybrid car thats built entirely around fuel savings and thus sheds performance and makes some 190 horsepower, or an EV with 520 miles of range and 819 horsepower. All while EV's are still infantile and gas powered vehicles have existed for 140 years. 100
skrunkly wonkle @scrumpl3.bsky.social · 12/02/2026but thats not the average, i was already lowballing EV's 100
skrunkly wonkle @scrumpl3.bsky.social · 12/02/2026a it takes about 10 gallons of gas to charge an 80 kwh battery, and a good 80 kwh EV will get some 350+ miles on a full charge. in comparison, 10 gallons of gas will get the average gas car with 25 mpg about 240 miles. 100
skrunkly wonkle @scrumpl3.bsky.social · 12/02/2026and keeping gas cars (least efficient use of gasoline next to burning it for heat) is magically more green than an electric vehicle that gets more miles with the fuels burned to charge it, I see. 100
skrunkly wonkle @scrumpl3.bsky.social · 12/02/2026I find it very hard to imagine that oil will have such a large dominance in electricity after more and more startups realize solar farms generate electricity from literally nothing and have no moving parts that need frequent maintenance. 100
skrunkly wonkle @scrumpl3.bsky.social · 12/02/2026and whos to say the sources of electricity bev's will be using will be natural gas or coal in the near future? we've already been seeing influx of solar farms, 70% of canada is already running renewable energy. In the US the usage of renewable energy is also on the rise (10% in 2022, 22% today) 100
skrunkly wonkle @scrumpl3.bsky.social · 12/02/2026why would someone get a car that can only fuel up on gas (finite material thats only ever gonna get more and more expensive as years go by) when cars that could fill on electicity generated from literally any source of electricity ever exist 100
