Ok thoughts on Goontz: I think it's fun, it doesn't need to be completely retired but like maybe cooled down a bit and saved for an occasional breakout. But being fun doesn't necessarily make a great jam. There's some Goontz jams that actually get interesting but more that don't

I think a lot of the negative aspects are more an issue with oversaturation that let the cornier aspects take center stage but I see a direct link from grunge and alt metal of the 80's and 90's to the post hardcore and metalcore scene of today that passes through nu metal
