Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 19/11/2025And because it doesn’t do solely to come on here to shamelessly self-promote, here’s another piece of news: I have bought rather a nice Volvo. So. That’s exciting. 1293
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 19/11/2025In short, I want to help you to buy your next car Carmly. So that’s what the new service is called. It’s launching today, in association with Palmdale Car Finders, and I’ll be offering the service independently too before too long. You can find more details here: www.palmdale.co.uk/carmly/ 030
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 19/11/2025Hello. Me again. Just popping back on here to tell you that I’ve started a new car-buying service. The idea is that if you’re not sure which car you want to buy, you can tell me exactly what you want and need from your next car, and then I’ll give you three great options for your budget. ⬇️ 2136
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 19/11/2025All I can say for now is 'it will be'. We had some ideas for a rejig for Season 2 but they've been put on hold for reasons. We do want to return to doing it - it's just life has been getting in the way! 110
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 19/11/2025Decided to take a step back from all social media a few months ago for my own mental health. It's done wonders. But all's well! Thank you for your concern. Just popping back for a bit of shameless self-promotion! 140
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 20/07/2025Been using the Buzz for Buzzy stuff this weekend. Chairs coming soon to a podcast near you (in all their hideousness). 060
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 20/07/2025Definitely one to jump at if I’m ever offered the chance! 010
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 20/07/2025Well there’s a blast from the past. We stayed in that exact hotel block a few years ago! In fact our room is in your picture! 020
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 19/07/2025Can vouch for the slickness of the column change on the Ds, having now tried a couple more since. Was also surprised by how nice the dash-mounted change was on the Traction. In fact, what blew me away about the Traction was how modern it felt for such an old car. 130
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 17/07/2025We used to have a metric fucktonne of these when I worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Was always a bit of a guilty pleasure when you’d get to take an SRi Exterior Pack with the optional pano roof on a delivery run. Entirely meh to drive, especially with the 1.8 petrol, but they looked great! 120
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 17/07/2025Yes, but just every once in a while, it’s important to remember that you owe it to yourself to stay up late and eat as many biscuits as you like. 130
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 15/07/2025Yup, can’t speak to the other areas as I haven’t skied many of those, but the upgrades to the lift system in the last 10 years or so at the Pass Thurn end have made a huge difference - not least the Panoramabahn, which holds a special place in my heart as it’s the first lift I took my wife up! 110
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 15/07/2025That’s a long old schlep - took me most of a day to ski it, let alone walking it! My folks once had a small flat in Mittersill so we always used to ski the Pass Thurn end of the ski area - amazing views down into the Salzachtal and Leukental, and usually lovely and quiet until mid-morning! 110
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 15/07/2025Looks like you’re somewhere up above Hollersbach? Been a while so I could be mistaken! 110
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 15/07/2025Agreed, though there is always the Kona Electric. Admittedly not quite as cohesive a design as the Ioniq 5, but eye-catching in its own way and just as smooth to drive! 020
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 15/07/2025Yeah I’m definitely not an EVangelist. I’m lucky enough that one works well for my use case but I also know there are plenty of use cases where they don’t work just yet. 020
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 15/07/2025There are good reasons why I’ll always take my cars to Rich for any kind of serious fabrication or rust repair work. (Subtitle to these pics: Why You Shouldn’t Take A Punt On A Cheap Citroen D Special) 090
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 15/07/2025Ahh that’s a shame! It actually feels quite compact to us, having come from a Superb Estate! 110
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 15/07/2025I don’t doubt it. And even if they do need a charge, they can do it at 240kW, so 10-80% can be as little as 18 minutes. Just enough time to go into the services, use the loo, buy a coffee, and get back to the car! 110
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 15/07/2025Thank you. Yes, it seems pretty relaxing. Looking forward to the first long road trip in it! 000
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 15/07/2025While I was taking these pictures last night I kept looking at it all lit up and thinking ‘I can’t believe I get to drive around in this thing now!’ 110

Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 14/07/2025Only an idiot would go out and take pictures of his new black car at nighttime, right? 7370
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 11/07/2025Hey everybody, did you know the bonnet on an ID.Buzz is hinged at the bottom with a check strap at the top, so it opens like this? I didn’t, but TIL! 😃 390
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 11/07/2025Currently working my way through Discworld in chronological order (having been a fan of Terry’s for years) and it consistently blows my mind how relevant and applicable his stories are to the here and now. His foresight and understanding of the human condition were uncanny. 070
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 11/07/2025I think it’s worth adding the caveat that this done was with an eye on developing markets which at the time favoured small saloons with robust suspension that had a bit of height to it - which is why it looked the way it did! (I rather like it, but I appreciate I’m a bit odd like that!) 270
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 10/07/2025I’m laughing. I think? Might be crying a bit. Not sure. 010
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 10/07/2025I feel like you and I should start a club. Or maybe just a monthly meeting with chairs in a circle. 130
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 09/07/2025Amazing interior trim. But I’m doing a heck of a lot of glossing right now. 010
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 08/07/2025No, there’s no doubt the Skoda offered more space all round, and was cleverer with it too (more cubbies etc). But the Ioniq 5’s frunk looks really useful - will be interesting to see what we can fit in there! 010
Alex Robbins @scrof.bsky.social · 08/07/2025I’ve no positive contribution to make here other than to say that I bloody love Kas and I would imagine owning an early one brand new felt magnificent! 140
