Reading about him more, he does fall under the trope of "gender change as survival necessity, not as choice" that somewhat bothers me. But also, he is a dog. I can't be upset with that.

More #Hurtland progress. I laid out these sunset colors on this scene, but I actually think I want to go for a darker dusk palette instead. It's a good thing I didn't commit too hard on this piece yet.

I had to remind myself that art is fun, so I drew OCs! I included short bios for each of them to give you an idea who they are. None of them belong to the same universe, so it was a challenge putting them all together.

How Is the Queen? More Hurtland concept art. Early on in the project, I had the thought to make it pixel ditherpunk. But I recently figured out index tones in Krita, and I think this is easier.

The six-legged creature, named Ivory, towers above, bathed in red light. A string of flesh hangs from her open jaw. A bug-like creature attaches itself to her underside.

Shy This is the first time I've depicted Lou in any color. He deserved it for Pride Month!

Lou, a trans man with long dirty blonde hair and whiskers of facial hair, poses in a modestly seductive way while looking towards the camera. Unused drawings from the TOKOPHOBIA postmortem. The first one was turned into the finale and zhuzhed up, the second one didn't fit in pacing-wise, and I deemed it unnecessary.

If you love adult animation, and you haven't checked out Carol & the End of the World on Netflix, I wholly recommend it! When it came out I gave it a pass because I didn't like the art style, but I was so wrong. This show captures that feeling of being the only person not having fun at the party.

This was my grad cap when I finished SCAD. I want to carry this kind of energy forward into my art from now on. I'm so tired of perfectionism holding me back.
