What are the chances Pogacar gets so bored with dominating the Tour de France that he retires from cycling and plays minor league baseball? Then un-retires and wins three more Tours? Then retires again, gets bored playing video games, un-retires & finishes 35th in the Tour of Britain?

LeBron James will probably win another championship or two. He can go anywhere to chase a ring. But he’ll probably never again be the No. 1 option on a title-winning club. So, where does that leave the GOAT debate? Life may prove me wrong, but I think it’s settled. LeBron is locked in at No. 2.

This one's big. In June, I went behind the scenes with the Canadian Forces Snowbirds to capture a fragment of their final season with the iconic CT-114 Tutor jet. It was an extraordinary privilege, a front-row seat to history. Click here to read: issues.skiesmag.com/554/766/1704...

If LeBron ends up in Cleveland, they’re my pick to win the East. If not, it’s the Sixers, easy. Toronto looks solid with Kawhi, but without additional pieces it’s hard to take them seriously. The Celtics are punting, and it makes zero basketball sense. They had the talent to make a run.

I stand on the idea that every human being deserves civility, dignity and respect. Not just me. Everybody. It’s my responsibility to give this freely to fellow humans, no matter what. So easy to point the finger. Difficult to look inward, do the hard work to change my character.

As Tim Cook steps down at Apple, it’s worth ruminating on his tenure as CEO. The best I’ve seen to date is this book by Tripp Mickle. If you still read books, consider reading this one. If you don’t, it’s never too late to start. 🫡

One of the main reasons I still prefer Google to ChatGPT for quick research queries: ChatGPT over-relies on weak or questionable sources, like Wikipedia and other non-official sites. At least with Google, I can navigate to reliable, rock-solid sources. I worry that most people won’t do this.

Installed road tires on my Broam, in a bid to make it faster on pavement. They didn’t provide the immediate boost I hoped for, but I think that’s partly down to my conditioning. They do corner well, and feel comfortable at 40 km/h-plus. I’ll reserve further judgment until I’ve broken them in.

25 km of cycling after work today. About 10 km on muddy gravel roads. Had a blast, despite my underwhelming speed and dirt-drenched kit. Spring is on its way. Paris to Ancaster … probably not in the cards this year, but looks more appealing than it did a month ago.

A Canadian changed the lyrics to the national anthem at a hockey game today in protest, and we were totally OK with it. Because Canadians don’t cling to the absurd belief that a founding text is sacred. We care more about *practicing* freedom of expression than we do about cultural artifacts.

If "I've seen cyclists not using bike lanes so we shouldn't have protected bike lanes" is a valid argument, then we shouldn't have streets for cars because I have definitely seen cars drive in bike lanes.

It’s alarming how much power we cede to technologists under the age of 45 with limited life experience and little ability to empathize. They essentially run the world, control the conversation, weaken democracy, destroy small businesses, and tell us they’re somehow making this a better place.

Politicians need to be held to account. Journalists do that. It’s not about reaching the largest audience. It’s about accountability. Very strange that so many tech bros don’t understand the basic role of journalism in a democracy. Silicon Valley destroying institutions they don’t understand.
