I like cool jazz too. It’s all mood dependent and all flavours of jazz work some of the time for me, even the most avant garde.

#NowPlaying Miles Davis Circle in the Round 1979 One of the most interesting MD compilation albums, covering the peak years from both of the great Quintets (1955-1970)

I wouldn't let that stop me from visiting the gallery. I had to look it up who it was, and am none the wiser, but will take your word on it!

The Portrait Gallery just behind the NG is also fabulous. Went to see Jenny Savilles exhibition there in July

JMW Turner The Fall of Anarchy 1833 A long time since I last visited Tate Britain, most of which was spent in the Clore Gallery admiring the many groundbreaking works of one of our greatest artists... Must return again soon (and its free)

I’m used to them being on a hard floor so no issues. I’ve never had them on carpet so can’t say how that effects the sound

#NowPlaying #Nirvana Unplugged in New York 1994 Must rank as one of the best unplugged sets. An almost perfect setlist, with the incredible 'Where did you sleep last night' as the closer. Pure class

Standard Rega P6 with a Goldring Eroica MC cart. I'm really happy with the whole system tbh and cant see a need to change any of it apart from valve and cartridge replacements as they wear..

There is gold in the 80’s especially the first half

Screaming Lord @screaminglord.bsky.social · 05/07/2025

Yes I have. They really need some space around them for optimum listening but this room is smaller than the one in the house I moved from and I don’t have the luxury of having them 2ft out from each wall. Still play well enough though…

That's an all time favourite album for me. Amazing band live too, surprised you've not heard it before but better late than never

#Music After nearly two years the music room is almost complete. Looking forward to getting the old rig up and running again at the weekend, I've really missed that depth of sound from the big Focals...

Hi RG. Yes that’s correct. Zero noise and hum via the speaker but a very slight hum (perhaps to be expected) from the power supply unit if you stick your ear up against it. Also I should probably change the valves at some point this year as I have not changed them since ownership

Not cack, but they were too good to be doing covers, and there are some great tracks on all their albums, even the debut. Albums were hit and miss until Revolver for me. All exceptional from that point onwards...
