Not to rain, but I wouldn't go that far. Military are deliberately brainwashed jingoistic. But I think the atrocities have probably gelled and GIs realize this is not normal. For an order to be voided, each officer in turn must refuse their orders. That almost never happens, but I remain hopeful.
