It would be a great opportunity to introduce presumed liability on drivers too. We can dream

It is very well tucked away to be fair

I don’t think liability needs to be an issue - it could simply be the rule that the operator or the manufacturer is liable. That said, I don’t really trust our politicians not to fudge it

The issues are a product of there actually being large numbers of people now. Back in the day, it was just clubbers, dealers and hookers

So I shouldn’t hold my breath for an Origin Story on the bond market?

as someone who has worked in that world, I think mortgage borrowing is a bit more exciting than you suggest and the corporate stuff is a bit less exciting than those involved make out.

Great to see it revived, hope I can get in sometime soon👍

I’m convinced that car bloat contributes to this. Every day I see buses having to edge past oversized SUVs (or wait for them to get out of the way) when a smaller vehicle could have passed with no issue

It kind of makes the argument for PR and constructive coalition governments doesn’t it? Probably a bit too subtle a point for this Opposition

I do think some sort of “light transit“ along there would be a good idea. Maybe regular golf buggy type things like they have in airports

I guess it depends on exactly what your needs are and where you’re going. Some of the bigger shops have back or side entrances which can be driven to (John Lewis, Selfridges) and even with the current set up you need to get yourself across a pavement to get from the road to the store.

I thought I’d look at what happened in the scandal where Juventus got relegated to Serie B as a possible precedent. The Wikipedia entry is completely impenetrable to me at this time on a Friday afternoon so I am none the wiser 🫠

Wasn’t there one which patiently rebutted all the tedious anti-cycling talking points (or at least the top 10) 🫠

Ian Scorah @scozzer.bsky.social · 15/09/2026
Absolutely! Uber/Deliveroo and the businesses which supply the bikes need to be cracked down on

Ian Scorah @scozzer.bsky.social · 15/09/2026
I do feel a bit sorry for the delivery people using these things - I’m sure for most of them it’s ignorance rather than a real desire to break the law. Anyway, my point is that the police are doing something on this despite what newspaper columnists may say

Ian Scorah @scozzer.bsky.social · 15/09/2026
Btw, I saw a pretty serious police operation on Kilburn High Road last week stopping and confiscating illegal e-bikes. Looked like that had at least 10 as I passed by.

Not sure what people expect them to say. They have to verify the facts for themselves and follow a proper process 🤷

One of the first "outrageous" claims I saw as Jason Arday's media hounding unfolded was that he ran 30 marathons in 35 days! Wow! What a thing to claim! And the newspapers all suggested there was no evidence he actually did it. Well, they clearly didn't look very hard 🙄 🧵 1/26
