This #ScottishHillTracks route offers a 27km trek, mostly on good tracks. The ‘Burma Road’ is a popular challenge for both mountain bikers and gravel bikers due to its steep southern ascent/descent, but which is soon rewarded by the impressive views. [1/2]

Our Chair Rachel Taylor recently hosted a walk as part of the #WRCED Festival 2026 (Walk Run Cycle East Dunbartonshire). Eleven attendees explored hills & historic routes from the Vale of Leven together with two ScotWays directors. The sun shone on the walkers who donned equally sunny smiles!

Route 135 is a classic historical route through fine mountain country, and now also part of the #WestHighlandWay. The track itself is a 44 km long old drove and military road skirting the Black Mount Hills and ascending the well-known Devil's staircase. #ScottishHillTracks #HillTrackTuesday

#HillTrackTuesdays his week features route 3 – Town Yetholm to Alwinton by Clennell Street. This is a historic crossing of the border between Scotland and Northumberland, also known as Hexpethgate. The route is 29 km long, all on minor roads or waymarked tracks. Have you walked this route?
