Walcott lost his second challenge in as many days but has his first non-infield hit, a 101 liner to right. But then on a run-and-hit he was unsure whether a ball was caught in left (it wasn’t) and ran back to first after sliding safely into second and was forced out. Odd play.

Gleider Figuereo sac fly makes it 6-5 Amarillo. Game is preceding like last night with the teams flipped. Massive 1st-inning lead for one side and then crickets while the other side battles back. A nearly flawless 3.1 from Ismael Agreda in his 2nd AA appearance, and the 1st one was icky. B6.

Well fudge. For 2 innings David Davalillo was as good as I’ve seen him. I mean, as in, “credible SP4 against Toronto tonight” good. And then the damn wheels fell off. 4 walks to five batters and done. Nice to see the version we fawned over for a little while at least.

Frisco and Amarillo fighting for a spot in the Texas League finals. Off to a, uh, rough start. Blake Townsend was quite effective in AAA with his upper 80s FB, but not here, now now.

He’s been good lately. Had a wipeout soon after being DFAed but from late June on: 1.33 ERA, 13 BB, 35 SO in 27 IP, oppo .136/.252/.261. Has that janky delivery that you can ignore when he’s on but will boil your blood when he’s not.

6-4 Frisco m5. Riders haven't done anything since Walcott's homer, and the Frisco pen is only slightly less shaky than Amarillo's. Roberts, Danielson and Wynyard all having issues. Porter the current pitcher, escaped a 2-on 2-out.

Frisco quickly up 5-0 and Amarillo's David Hagaman (part of Kelly trade with AZ) is gone with two out. Walcott, Peirch Disla walks, Figuereo, Moore, Wagner hits. Hagaman was Amarillo's best starter and their bullpen is iffy. An ideal start. A victory would put Frisco in the Texas League finals.

Frisco prevails 8-7. Go-ahead run on a WP in the top of tenth, and Amarillo's Avery Owusu-Aniedu missed a walkoff homer by about two feet. Frisco heads home up 1-0 in best-of-three.

To extras in Amarillo, 7-7. Poodles scored one and had bases juiced with one out but Josh Trentadue caught the fringe of the bottom of the zone on 3-2 to get the second out, and Jonathan Brand got another K for the third. Crazy-ass game.

Frisco up 7-6 t9. Amarillo scores with with substantial help from the Riders. Walk from Lopez, walk and WP from Magdaleno, E5 on a gimme grounder to Rafe Perich, CF Paxton Kling forgot the number of outs on a sac fly (although the damage from that was just a runner advancing).
