Amid Trump’s refusal to take responsibility for the United States bombing an Iranian school, it’s helpful to remember Gen. Eisenhower’s note, prepared the evening before the D-Day invasion, in case things didn’t go as planned. www.timelesstimely.com/p/the-blame-...

The President's House by George Munger; c. 1814-1815.

The burned-out shell of a once elegant and imposing house stands alone in the landscape. It is the White House as it looked following the conflagration of August 24, 1814, the low point of the War of 1812.

The fire was the work of British troops, the first--and only--foreign army to invade the capital city of the United States. Viewed from the northeast, from the public common, the empty scene is a vivid reminder of the elemental state of the capital city at that date.

One prominent but puzzling detail is the S-curved shape above the near corner of the roof. It is most readily interpreted as part of a lightning protection system. Not a lightning rod, given its length, but rather part of the metallic conductor that encircled the roof, now torn from its mooring. This record of fact could also be interpreted ironically since the British had destroyed what thunder and lightning could not.

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) on Tuesday said he will work with other parliamentary leaders around the world to nominate President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in securing a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of Israeli hostages.

Oh?
Arctic Polar Ice Trends
Rapid Decline in Summer: Arctic sea ice extent has shown a downward trend of approximately 12.4% per decade since the start of the satellite record in 1979. The trend has been particularly strong since 2007, with the 18 lowest minimums all occurring in the past 18 years.
Record Low Winter Maximums: Arctic sea ice reached its lowest maximum on record in March 2025, a trend that has been occurring for the past several decades.
Thinner and Younger Ice: The Arctic ice cover is becoming younger and thinner. The oldest, thickest multi-year ice has been significantly lost, with the overwhelming majority of ice now being thinner, first-year ice.
Warming Amplification: The rapid melting of Arctic sea ice is linked to Arctic temperature amplification, a process where the polar region warms faster than the global average, further contributing to ice loss.

Kakistocracy

(noun) Government by the worst, least-qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens.

Used in a sentence: “What fills me with doubt and dismay is the degradation of the moral tone. Is it or is it not a result of Democracy? Is ours a 'government of the people by the people for the people,' or a Kakistocracy rather, for the benefit of knaves at the cost of fools?” — James Russell Lowell, in a letter to Joel Benton, 1876

As we talk about incompetence, let’s not forget that choosing non-secure commercially available platforms has a more nefarious purpose.
The part that people are missing is that they're doing official communications on Signal to avoid those communications being retained. There are Project 2025 training videos that specifically recommended this type of thing as a way to avoid subpoenas. Our government is using 3rd party software to discuss OPSEC, NOFORN, and Top Secret levels of communication in avenues that do not retain data. They can stage a total takeover of the US and there will be no
evidence through any official channels.

Tweet from White House social media bro @StevenCheung47 with a photo of personalized stationery belonging to former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki:

“A relic of the past found in a random cabinet in the White House.
Apparently @jrpsaki was soooooo important she had personalized note cards made to remind people how "important" she was.”

Reply from @jrpsaki:

“Would hope you had more important things to worry about (you know the cost of eggs, childcare, veterans waiting for care...could literally go on) but hey since you raised it I purchased these myself to write notes to colleagues and staff to thank them for their work and also to write back to people who wrote me including kids. How dare I!”

Elon has six adderall-fueled autistic tech bro zoomers sleeping overnight at the DOGE offices and working 24/7 on maximizing government efficiency?!
This is extremely BULLISH

WIRED has identified six young men-all apparently between the ages of 19 and 24, according to public databases, their online presences, and other records-who have little to no government experience and are now playing critical roles in Musk's so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) project, tasked by executive order with "modernizing Federal technology and software to maximize governmental efficiency and productivity." The engineers all hold nebulous job titles within DOGE, and at least one appears to be working as a volunteer.
