Ventured further north today. After a walk around Ollaberry we found our 2nd Red-breasted Flycatcher of the trip. A warbler flying in front of the car as we headed south had us stopping and after some pishing the expected Yellow-browed Warbler gave incredible views as it perched up next to the car.

What a day!!! This one will live long in memory. Was one of the lucky ones to see the Siberian Blue Robin at Hillwell but didn’t manage to get a photo. Also saw the nearby Two-barred Warbler (photo) just down the road and the Siberian Stonechat at Levenwick.

Nice second day on Shetland started with finding a Red-breasted Flycatcher that promptly disappeared after finding it. Other migrants seen included 6 Yellow-browed Warblers, Redstart (photo), and 2 Lesser Whitethroat. Ended the day seeing the Buff-breasted Sandpiper on the way back to the house

Great to finally catch up with the not so Long-tailed Shrike having dipped the bird in Fife. Showed very well at times feasting on bees.

Always enjoy getting these summaries of my @birdtrack.bsky.social year. Recorded more additional taxa last year and plan to add even more this year as well as adding more breeding evidence to my records.
