Scott Lee @scottlee-gamedev.bsky.social · 03/10/2026One perspective in the mainstream I am not seeing enough is that by most metrics that matter to the ordinary person we are in an economic depression (in the US and probably globally). Companies taking advantage of that should know workers are taking notes. 001
Scott Lee @scottlee-gamedev.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Can't wait for iced coffee in job interviews to become the new secret handshake, by the way. 000
Scott Lee @scottlee-gamedev.bsky.social · 26/09/2026The productivity research on AI and LLM use since 2023 has shown "perceived" gains as well as real outcomes that fall drastically short of grand claims. The real improvement probably lies between a stable 10% to 35% generally - far short of the *exponential* singularity promised. YMMV. 000
Scott Lee @scottlee-gamedev.bsky.social · 13/09/2026I've been mostly quiet on socials the past couple weeks. Remember how I was working on a new app dev platform? It's going well. Very well. Every single person who has tried the very early build of it so far has commented on how fast it is. Sign up for updates about NodeBake here: www.nodebake.com 022
Scott Lee @scottlee-gamedev.bsky.social · 27/08/2026What are my thoughts on the Salesforce/Anthropic partnership? Unfortunately, just the latest distraction and tack-on for other tack-ons that doesn't improve their core product. It's not all bad, of course, but it will not save Salesforce from disruption. 000
Scott Lee @scottlee-gamedev.bsky.social · 23/08/2026Seen a lot of "philosophers" and others on the internet lately who arr biased against AI claiming that LLMs cannot be conscious or intelligent when what they really mean upon explaining is that LLMs cannot be human or human-like, which... yes? So? 000
Scott Lee @scottlee-gamedev.bsky.social · 17/08/2026If AI reliance robs one of understanding their code and understanding their code is key to a competitive edge and high quality, then AI reliance robs one of both by proxy. 020
Scott Lee @scottlee-gamedev.bsky.social · 17/08/2026Was trying out a local AI workflow this weekend and learned a few things. Stuff like Google Gemma 4, Qwen 27B are so capable, even running on a gaming graphics card, that we increasingly have little reason to pay for premium AI from data centers (as if all the existing reasons were not enough). 000
Scott Lee @scottlee-gamedev.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Since discovering the web 1.0 revival going on, it has me thinking about power structures, as well. Why are we accepting Google as, still, the de facto leader in search? Search engines, especially with conventional design, could be done by small teams again. A lot of us are capable. 010
Scott Lee @scottlee-gamedev.bsky.social · 13/08/2026Seeing all the web 1.0 revival stuff is so fun, like Neocities sites. Definitely has the potential to supplant social platforms in this age of decay and discontent. Inspiring, and makes me want to make a new personal website like it's 1998. 210
Scott Lee @scottlee-gamedev.bsky.social · 12/08/2026Everyone should probably consider that over a year ago Satya Nadella, among others, proclaimed "SaaS is dead!" and it has probably all been, at best, incredibly misguided and, at worst, just a part of strategy for deeper vendor lock-in and securing the status quo. 010
Scott Lee @scottlee-gamedev.bsky.social · 08/08/2026Everyone needs money but it always nice in a tech career to make software that improves people's lives in other ways and makes them happy instead of extracting. 000

Scott Lee @scottlee-gamedev.bsky.social · 30/07/2026The absurdity that Salesforce Apex only allows you 10 seconds of CPU time to do whatever it is you need to do synchronously and then Apex's product managers don't bother improving the language's performance should not be lost on anyone. 000

Scott Lee @scottlee-gamedev.bsky.social · 03/07/2026I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty satisfying as a programmer when you listen to someone, or people, describe how you "can't" build something and then I come back a few weeks or months later with a working MVP. Scott Lee @scottlee-gamedev.bsky.social · 01/05/2026The people who are confused about whether Salesforce was ever "anything more than a database" should go visit their local dev team. I think about years spent writing complex code to number crunch, sync with other systems, distribute data across trees... shows how we're all spending our time, no? 010
Scott Lee @scottlee-gamedev.bsky.social · 01/05/2026So, what's happening? Are people actually excited about AI agents interacting with the Salesforce database or have we just given up on the hope of having a good UI? 100
