HAPPY EQUINOX!! We moved into the van and started south on Dec 21 -- the winter solstice. Today is the fall equinox, so we've been through 3 full seasons, and travelled in 3 countries, 1 mexican state, 18 US states, and 4 Canadian provinces - and it feels like we're just getting started.

# French Kiss

- 1.5 oz gin (london dry) (one part - use 1 oz for smaller glass)
- Barspoon Amoretti Natural Wild Strawberry Artisan Flavor
- 2 dash Rhubarb bitters
- 3 oz Prosecco (2 parts)
- splash sprite
- muddled slice or two of fresh strawberries
- fan-cut strawberry garnish

In a mixing tin, lightly muddle the strawberry, gin, Amoretti, and bitters - transfer to serving glass. Add ice to hold strawberry down and top with Prosecco. float sprite. Garnish w/ strawberry.

This is basically a 1 part gin to 2 parts Prosecco cocktail, inspired by a French 75.

The Amoretti for a strawberry syrup is what we recommend - it's $16 for an 8oz bottle (02/25) - a little goes a long way. The rhubarb bitters bring a lot out of the strawberry flavor and are worth the trouble to acquire. Feel free to experiment with other strawberry flavors. The cocktail is still quite good without the bitters.

And actually, another one I hate to recommend: “Triumph of the Will” (1935) Roger Ebert’s thoughts on the film in the alt text of the attached image. I think this film is more relatable to current events, but it’s not an easy watch - not gross, just mostly boring (which is again, relatable)

Here’s a cocktail to try! Cold in the Shadows. IPA, Campari, and Raspberry Liqueur. Credited to Pam Wiznitzer at Seamstress Bar in NYC. My version uses the ingredients I have :-) For an IPA, go mild and fruit forward, not dank/onion/catpiss. Grapefruity, tart, bitter. Calls you back for more.

- Shake with ice
