Blake watched them head off and turned to the central platform, it was an huge ring of wood, suspended by countless bridges. It felt as if the whole thing swayed with each step. Blake looked at a large rattan basket with a door that was attached to a pulley anchored in the darkness above.
Blake held on to the rope to manage his descent. Each layer seemed to have less
and less light. A scent of burnt metal and rock grew as the basket hit bottom.
In the center was an enormous hole, it seemed nearly a mile or two wide. The air above it shimmered with heat, but there was a breeze. From the hole. Rhythmic.
Warm. Like breath.
Near the basket was a bookshelf. On it was a black book and a grey book.
"Lord Leviathan, sir? I am Blake. You asked to meet with me?" Blake looked around and froze when the response came, echoing out of the central void.
"Welcome, Blake Carrington." The voice boomed. The background noise of chatter and papers shuffling stopped. Everyone stopped. "Call me Levi."
