An incomplete and inadequate list of games that made me. Alpha Centauri stands in for Civilization, but where is Master of Magic or Master of Orion 2? Should it be Dune 2 instead of Warcraft? Maybe Zork or Pooyan, Mail Order Monsters or Wizardry? Ask me next week, I'd have a different chart.
Three by three grid of computer games: Ultima IV, Pool of Radiance, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, Warcraft II, Diablo II, X-com, Final Fantasy IV, Dynasty Warriors IV, City of Heroes

Panels from in think House of X/Powers of X, Cyclops returned to life and Storm in her role as High Priestess of the resurrection. She asks for some sign that he is himself. He replies"once I thought I was seeing, a leader of mutants-- and then you showed me what strong was."

She kisses his forehead and says "I learned it watching you."

My house was Switzerland in the console wars, with both a Genesis and a SNES. Each had a lot of really strong titles. We did good in buying and rentals. More details in the alt text. These 4 manage to rise above a lot of great memories.
Pirates Gold box art. Never owned but a great rental that I played the hell out of. Got the remake years later on PC, just didn't have the same charm.Phantasy Star 3 box art. Great RPG with a real branch- your first character's story ends with a choice of marriages, producing one of two characters. Then their story ends with a choice of marriages, so there are 4 different characters for act 3, each with a different story.Toejam and Earl box art. Great co-op exploration game. You'd find presents and have to test them out to get goodies.Dune 2 box art. The birth of the real time strategy. Besides getting me to read Dune and watch the Lynch movie, would lead to Command & Conquer and Warcraft.
